[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution

For now i'm using a directory channel however that puts all the songs in order alphabetically. is there anyway to fix this? or am I doomed to listen to 6 Katy Perry songs in a row?

Did you have any luck with this? I'm having the same issue. All my music videos play fine if I add them to PTV as a Directory, but if I create local .nfo files and scrape them into my database and add them to a smart playlist the channel won't show up. The playlist shows and plays the music videos fine in xbmc though, it just won't populate as a channel.

EDIT: This is the error in my xbmc log (200 is my music videos channel)

ERROR: script.pseudotv.live-ChannelList: Unable to get information about channel 200

::SHARING MEANS CARING::

I Issued my first Donation refund today... This user felt that his donation obligated him to special services.

I would like to take the time to address this, I do not offer services or any type of obligated features. I appreciate all the help and support I get on this project... So I felt adding a "Special" thank you gift was a nice idea... A thank you gift is all it is.. I don't do this for money... I do it for the users who want to cut the cord, and enjoy all that XBMC offers.

All I ever ask in return is you treat me with respect, and not as your slave "obligated" to help you or provide you services.

Thanks
Kevin

Addon list Updated!

I beg of you, help me out... would you rather I add new code and improve the plugin? or monitor a silly list?

If I were doing what you are, lets just say I would have been banned a long time ago... lol Most people on forums are normal/decent, but there are always the odd one or two or three.
For what it's worth I think you handle yourself well. Its plain to see that you do it for the love of it and could just of easily done all this and kept it to yourself. But just like the rest of the developers/skinners on here you do it all for free. I think the least any of us users could do is be pleasant and respectful.

Well Luna, dramatic much? For the record, I'm the "bad apple". I won't try to convince anyone either way. But here's the FACTS, at least.

1) I, in NO WAY, asked for or even implied a request for a refund. That was all Luna's choice to do.

2) I simply asked him why he insisted on repeatedly deleting the community list. Check the revision history and you'll see I had a reason to ask.

3) He was upset that I told him I'd created my own list on my own server. Told him I did so because after time, the community list gets completely wiped out. Why contribute when the dev just deletes it? As of the conversation we had, only ulive was on the list, even tho nugporn, underground wellness, and many more working paths were on the list prior, too.

4) I told him also that his donor list is just as out-of-date, with duplicate entries and numerous dead links. So in truth, both community and donor lists are useless.

5) I asked him to clarify the difference between the donor and community lists, which he did. Donor offers unofficial plugins.

So yeah, he took that to mean that since I'd donated, I was asking for a refund. Heaven forbid somebody constructively criticize the lists, eh? It wasn't a rant in anger. He was mad that I'm not sharing my Autotune config, and said perhaps he shouldn't share PTVL. I have my reasons, and if you choose to believe so great...if not great. My last community contribution went towards the donor list anyway, so it doesn't matter if the community contributes.

Luna blocked me, but I hope someone sees my side of what happened. I'm not ungrateful. But I don't like devs bullying me into guilt, either.

I asked you why you wouldn't share with the community list, and you said it was because you had no obligation to. You also said you expected a service out of your donation.

Also why can't I remove links that don't work from the community list? I explained to you that I don't have time to test every link... so sometimes I have to mass delete till I have time to check them out... great thing about SVN is that there is a history of everything! so nothing is lost! So again why is it wrong that I did this?

You were refunded your money because i'm under no obligation to you to offer any services, you felt you were. So I wash my hands of you!

I went out of my way to add features that only you wanted... but you shit on every moment with your attitude!

I even went so far as to engage you in a personal discussion to understand why you were so angry... but you took that time to shit on me some more! I don't need this from you!

You can take your selfish attitude and shove it, move on... you are on my ignore list... I can care less... I tried giving you every opportunity to justify your actions toward me... and you summed it up with "I have an obligation to you and you don't to me"

He didn't call you out on the forum. He just made a blanket statement about what people should or shouldn't expect from donations. YOU made it a point to out yourself (dramatic much?). If you have a list, which contains items that are interesting/entertaining to you, why shouldn't you share them? Other people have.

I was implying that YOU called HIM out, while he did no such thing to you. It appeared as though he was making sure that potential future contributors had no thoughts of holding those contributions over his head.
Thank you very much for further developing PseudoTV.
I used to be a big fan of the old Add-On.

Yesterday I spend a few hours getting it to work on my set up.
I am using Openelec on an Ion device.

It was running fine for around 30min and then I started to get problems.

What happens is that when it tires to bring up the EPG the app crashes and results in a black screen with the audio still playing. If I press Esc I get back to the video but If I try to change channel it will just jump forward in the video file.

This has been driving me nuts.
I reinstalled the Addon, deleted the settings files etc, tried the development version.... all of this did not help. Every time I am trying PseudoTV I get the same error again and this with just using local media.

I tired to recreate the problem with restarting my HTPC, then starting PseudoTV with only TV genders in Autotune, then change channel two times and then pressing enter to bring up the EPG.
PseudoTV Live stops at around line 2800.
It would be great If you can see the Issue in my Log because I do not really want to reinstall my whole system if I not really have to.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help.

Nothing really stands out... check that you have full permissions to the nfs share folder.

Also there was a exception with skin widget. Not saying this is the problem.. just pointing out that sometimes an error from another script will kill ptvl.

Mute on android when it crashes so often !!my Only complain
(2014-10-15, 04:25)xavier.ba Wrote: Mute on android when it crashes so often !!my Only complain

I'm actually looking into this one right now. At first glance I don't think there's much that can be done automatically. I am looking at unmuting when pseudoTV starts, but there isn't an "unmute" function, just a mute toggle. Next though is to check the current "mute state" when pseudoTV starts and if it's muted, toggle mute off, otherwise do nothing. From what I can see, there isn't a way to check the mute state. Anyway, I'm looking at it, not seeing a good way around it yet.
