Once I figure out the issue.
There are SlideShow and ShowPicture routines. ShowPicture is noted as "new" in "Gotham". If I use ShowPicture, it doesn't do anything (no errors, etc) in either 14.0 alpha or 13.0. Didn't test beyond this. Instead I use SlideShow for everything (even single picture), which works for me on 14.0 alpha, 13.0 and 13.2 on Raspberry Pi and Linux. I would suspect those having issues are selecting folders that are denoted differently and python doesn't know what to do with them (such as smb:// or special:// etc).
After you've set your picture cache path in the plugin, can you go into settings and provide me what the value it has set for it?

/storage/emulated/0/pictures/

Now, when going to full screen, it can't go to the next photo in anyway and if I run slideshow, it will repeat the same photo I ran the slide show on and won't go to the next.
Can it be fixed so it will move to the next photo with arrow keys or space bar?

How are you running slideshow? Are you right clicking on the folder in the plugin and selecting "slideshow"?

Same here - photo in full screen but not possible to go to the next photo.
I'm activating slideshow by going to the far left. It plays the same photo again and again.

How are you running slideshow? Are you right clicking on the folder in the plugin and selecting "slideshow"?
I get what you're saying. Tried it from the folder and not from the photo inside the folder. It basically did the trick - the slideshow starts and runs through all the photos + I can use arrow keys to go back and forth.
Having said that, in a folder that has 200 photos, it takes a long time to start the slide show. Is it possible to just go into the folder, click on the first photo and after it goes full screen just start browsing with the arrow keys? It will basically function like most photo media browsers.

I'm going to try to make it as simple and seamless to use as possible. Unfortunately, XBMC doesn't handle URL photos very well (well, not at all, really).
Once the folder-> slideshow is selected, it may feel like a while to get started (it's caching the files), but it'll include photos as they become available.
I'll continue to work on photo support. It's my first priority right now.

Yes, it is true that they are different APIs.
I have actually made some notes to get this done.
The existing plugin was made with the API being a module component that can be replaced or complemented with other APIs. There are 5 APIs that one can use to access Google Drive content alone. I've also came up with an overall general structure for my cloud plugins to make it easier to implement additional cloud services.
It would be further on the horizon, early 2015, but sometime after the plugin is brought in line with my other plugins, and existing feature requirements have been rolled out, I'll be tackling integrating G+ Photos + Videos and even youtube (we don't really need another youtube plugin, but google video calls used in google drive are duplicated in youtube, so bridging the two into one location makes some sense.
Before I even bother tacking G+ photos, I need to have a good recipe for photo support in general. Photo implementation is proving a challenge in Cloud Plugins by the way XBMC handles non-local photos.

I notice when selecting a video, it presents you with a list of different versions. Is it actually possible to download these (perhaps the 720p MP4 version)?
I quite like the idea of being able to upload videos and have Google transcode them rather than myself, for download and playback on devices whilst offline (rather than the larger original).
