Are you a US resident or you use VPN? i have a 21Mbit/s Modem and i can watch stuff using VPN but with exception of NBC Live it buffers like hell

I am in the US and my ISP is FIOS I have 75/75 plan which cloaks at 84 down / 91 upload.

But like I keep on saying if you get FAST and reliable VPN you should have 0 issues.

Great addon..

Also like many others I find VPN actually works much better than Smart DNS.

With Smart DNS I always get buffering especially on the Monday night games.

Just hope this addon lasts, assuming if NBC found out they would not be too happy as it supposedly bypasses the cable subscribers check?

I have been using NBC sports for a while now using my iPad and hide my ass VPN.
I set up a us iTunes account to download the official app, I did the same on my android phone.
I used airplay to fling the app to appletv.
I've since moved away from apple and am using android all the way now with a Chromecast.
Only problem is that you can't stream to Chromecast unless you use the chrome beta app.
Anyway I have decided to use xbmc again have had this on many bits of kit over the years and its never let me down.
Using openelec on a raspberry pi and found this great add on.
I have a premium VPN but I wondered if there is a VPN add on I could use in xbmc as my current router wouldn't let me insert the VPN.
Also as others have mentioned I would really like a stand alone app where I could put my own log in details in and just run the add from that.

For those who have a raspberry pi and an official NBC sports log in what have you been doing to log in.
I believe the browser won't work as NBC sports use flash player and the pi doesn't support it.

Has anyone else noticed that the NBC Sports Live Extra Add-On is not available to install?

I just installed XBMC Kodi for my Nexus 5 (ARM) and can't find the NBC Sports Live Extra Add On At all which is a bit strange.

It shows up on my laptop here:

System > Add-ons > Get Add-ons > XBMC.org Add-ons > Video Add-ons > NBC Sports Live Extra

If you can't find it on yours, you can download it direct from here.

Hi MetalChris, Please bare with me as I'm a bit of a newbie. I've just installed Kodi and this is the first thing I've gone to install. I have no repos setup and it's effectively Kodi straight out the box. I've installed this and similarly to others I only have the Golf Channel as the live channel. I understand there's a fix using plugin.video.nbcsnliveextra-fix_upcoming.zip however I'm unable to find this anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've trialed at least 10 smart DNS providers and they all buffer to the point that it's just not worth watching at all (every 20 seconds or so!). If people are using a VPN then which one please as I'll just trial that rather then go through the monotonous trial period for all VPNs!!!

Or perhaps a Smart DNS server that I havent tried yet??

I also trialled numerous SMART DNS providers, some pretty well known ones and always had atleast some buffer issues, especially on weekday nights....

I am with Private Internet access VPN at the moment for a 1 month trial (which I had to pay for)..

They have numerous US based servers so you will have to try them all to see which one works for you.. All I can say is that there US-East server, I had bad buffer and latency issues with, but a couple of other ones are fine.

No I mean just any of the VPN services, like private internet access.

Have been using Private Tunnel vpn to watch epl. Initially buffered quite a bit but changed from default server in California to New York based one & it has been perfect. Based in Ireland btw

yup you need to play around to find the best server for you.
