Linux ChromeBox Kodi E-Z Setup Script (LibreELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2017/02/21]
In the OE/ChromeOS dual boot option does the OE OS get installed to internal memory or must I still install to a USB stick or HDD? I also have the "Booting from Hard Disk" message. Now I cant get into either OS. I thought that during the 1st run of the EZ script the internal memory was being repartitioned to use both OS's and on the 2nd run it would install to internal.

Either you didn't perform a factory reset before the dual boot install, or you set the boot flags before the dual boot install completed.

I'm looking into it now, it was working fine prior to the 14.0 stable release

I dunno man, that's a question for the add-on forums. I'd expect you would just need to download/install from zip, but not sure where you'd get it from.

I want to do a dual boot. I can't find info on how to back up the asus firmware before I start. I did one unit in dual boot and one in standalone. I think stand alone works better. My friend wants me to do his box and I want to back it up first. I know how to make a restore disk with the Google app from my PC but I can't find a way to make a total firmware install from the asus.

The script backups the firmware to USB and also creates the installer on USB (Remove firmware backup first though!) if you still have ChromeOS installed of course as you can't run it from OpenELEC.

OK. I see that now. Thanks. I think I will do a stand a loan on his box.

Hi there,
I have a standalone Ubuntu install with Kodi running as app.
The problem is that sometimes my video hangs while the audio continues playing. The app is unresponsive although at some point it un-hangs and the video resumes.
I am not able to replicate the problem, it occurs randomly.
Any idea guys?

If you don't trust my custom kernel, install the 3.19-rcX (X > 3) from ubuntu mainline repositories, the firmware is needed anyways.

Ubuntu most likely will never backport that fix.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I had that before the update to 5

The newest 3.19 in mainline is RC2, did you mean 3.18? Or did you mean the next RC will have your fix?

I told 3.19-rcX cause I meant 3.19-rcX - it was merged in 3.19-rc2 - you need never firmware (as written in my link before).

You can also build my 3.18.1 based kernel yourself: https://github.com/fritsch/linux/commits/ickle75 <- see the upper three commits.
