Also, check out the community list xmls (via the link on page 1 of the thread). Even if you don't want to autotune there are lots of good ideas in the community list to get you started.

You should also consider adding some of the setups you have to the list. Especially if you have anything interesting, or any live internet stream channels as those are sorely lacking in the lists.

Thanks guys, I just wished I had a pc to add documentaries and movies, great addon , looking foward to donate soon.

Community list has some documentary and classic movie channels that can be autotuned.

here's my input. I wasn't sure what to do about the exclusions because it said not to have spaces so I dont, but didn't know if that was correct...anyway, here is what I have for these 2 channels, but for both channels all that is coming out is things from my netflix list, which is the first thing listed on playon so it's like it's just parsing the first 10 things it finds. Is my #_1 value not working correctly? what am I missing?

<setting id="Channel_33_type" value="16" />
<setting id="Channel_33_1" value="HGTV/Full Episodes" />
<setting id="Channel_33_2" value="BeachfrontBargainHunt,BrothervsBrother,BuyingandSelling,CaribbeanLife,CousinsUndercover,CurbAppeal,FixerUpper,FliporFlop,FlippingtheBlock,HawaiiLife,HGTVStar,TheJennieGarthProject,LivingAlaska,RehabAddict,VacationHouseforFree" />
<setting id="Channel_33_3" value="10" />
<setting id="Channel_33_4" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_33_changed" value="True" />
<setting id="Channel_33_rulecount" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_33_rule_1_id" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_33_rule_1_opt_1" value="HGTV" />
<setting id="Channel_34_type" value="16" />
<setting id="Channel_34_1" value="Food Network/Full Episodes/Chopped" />
<setting id="Channel_34_2" value="" />
<setting id="Channel_34_3" value="10" />
<setting id="Channel_34_4" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_34_changed" value="True" />
<setting id="Channel_34_rulecount" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_34_rule_1_id" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_34_rule_1_opt_1" value="Chopped" />

I've also tried "/HGTV/Full Episodes/" and "HGTV/FullEpisodes"...I'm just trying what I can think of and every time I just get the top directory which is netflix/mylist. where have I gone wrong?

Sorry to quote myself here, just wanted to re-confirm that this does appear to be broken. I can add a log if you'd like, but I tried adding the exact example from the OP for hulu feature films and got the same netflix my list and then tried a fresh settings2 autotune with my playon things and it only created 2 channels: netflix my list and netflix recently added...both of which had the Exact same channel lineup, so I'm guessing recently added was just pulling in my list too and not in the most recent order.

What was broken was the HGTV plugin, 3 months plus. Just this week start to work again. This family of sites, HGTV, DIY, ect, all change they sites, so the parsing was not working, until this week. They are working now. Please, understand, PLTV, just serve the stream to the Kodi player; if something work yesterday and is not working today, it is just the "source"...

Kodi keeps crashing. Finally figured out how to do a log thanks to Kalebbro (did I do it right?). Anyway I'll paste it below. Does anyone think they might know what the problem is? These are the very last lines that appear on the log.

Does anyone have PseudoTV Live (0.5.7d) working with an external hard drive on the FireTV?

Thanks,
BlueKalel
I still can't get OTA channels working in PTVL. I wiped, reinstalled- re-autotuned, still getting the same errors I posted before with the "playback failed."

Any ideas what may have broke it in any of the recent updates?
I looked up the following, and despite this, I still feel like this has probably been explained already, but since I can't find it.....I must ask, despite the high potential for ridicule.

First off, despite the default audio/subtitle language setting in XBMC/Kodi, PTVL will show whatever is default to the video file playing (MKVs in this case), and pressing 'M' no longer provides the menu to choose manually. Also, the new left side menu option where......aw $%&, VOSD, that does it..........

Anyway, my only issue is that PTVL doesn't follow the setting for default audio/subtitles....can something be done about that?

Are you rooted? You don't really just add an external drive what you do it make the fire tv think the external drive IS the internal drive. A SSD works best for this.

I'm rooted and I have the most recent FireTV rom and the most recent StickMount (mounts to /sdcard/usbStorage/sda1 & 2). I have tried with SMB and it works fine but when I try to use an external hard drive if finds the shows and goes through the channel setup but when its done I keep getting:

"Unable to populate channels. Please verify that you have scraped media in your library and that you have properly configured channels."

I checked /sdcard/android/data/com.semperpax.spmc/files/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/script.pseudotv.live/cache and the m3u files are only 8bytes which is not right they should be at least 2Kb.

I have factory reset the FireTV and installed different versions of xbmc and PseudoTV Live combinations and I still can't get it to work.

I did have it working in the past before I updated to the newest FireTV rom, but that shouldn't make a difference.

It's like PseudoTV Live is not reading the db right to create the m3u's.

You're running old code, I only support recent builds, install my repo in OP to stay updated.
Issue may have been fixed? BTW thanks for posting your log... unlike others Tongue

At the time of that log was when I was trying different combinations to get it to work. I have tried the most recent PseudoTV Live version (0.5.7d) and I still get the same problem. I just ran a new log which is below.

P.S. I had to cut a lot of the log so it would fit, The original log was 8MB with Debug turned on, but I cut out the repeating parts.

I have the same problem so uninstalled latest version 0.56d and then set up all custom playlists channels, then upgraded to latest version.

hmmm I can't find a reason why its not working... but I suspect by the log that you accidentally enabled autotune but never selected any options.
Re-run autotune, and select your items.

I did enable autotune and I selected only "Find TV Networks" and "Find TV Genres". It goes through the finding TV networks dialog window then onto the creating channels dialog window. I can hear the hard drive being accessed. After it finished that I get the error message. I did look in the userdata/addon_data/script.pseudotv.live/cache folder and the generated folder is full of playlists but the m3u's just contain #EXTM3U. If I let PseudoTV Live do autotune without me selecting anything I will get streaming channels but none of my local media, also smb works fine.

How does PTVL extract channel/show information from the DB. It seems it's not adding that info to the m3u.
