[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
How mature.

Anyway, I took the liberty of reading over the top post once more to determine if my concerns were addressed before. The definitive answer is no.

PLTV currently does not pull PVR channels from the backend using the same channel numbers. It also does not pull the channel icons from the backend. Its kind of a pain to have to copy all of my channel icons and rename them just for PLTV when XBMC/kodi already pulls them from the backend for the PVR fuction.

I also didn't see anything about changing channels using channel numbers instead of using the arrow keys. This would be something I'd like to see. If anyone knows how to get that to work, let me know.

PLTV also does not work well when trying to use the DVR function in XBMC/Kodi (i.e setting recordings. I know thats in the works..not sure if true PVR integration is a priority on this project over other features, though). Viewing recordings from the PVR screws up everything because trying to navigate recordings also means that PLTV will change its channel every time. The recording menu then becomes stuck on top of PLTV and the script starts acting up.

As I said before, good job to the developer. I appreciate the work. I'd love to give it another shot in the future when more things have changed about it. It would be great to use this in conjunction with PVR to truly cut the cord with my family. Losing the ability to watch random movies on HBO is a big deal to them. I'd love to integrate this into my XBMC/Kodi setup in the future.

LMFAO!!!

Now you're going to lecture me on being immature when you're over here raging like a little bitch? The FACT of the matter is you haven't read the manual and people (in general) get tired of foul mouth, lazy little bitches like you shitting all over the thread, basically complaining because you're all butt hurt that the program isn't working the way you think it should and you're too lazy and stupid to figure it out. Ironically the program can do everything you mentioned PROVING you haven't read the instructions or made any effort to help yourself AT ALL.

Of course, myself and undoubtedly others, see right through your pissy little post. Which lets be honest, was nothing more than a swipe at the developer, the community and reeked of you bellowing out in frustration hoping your mommy would show up on the scene, post back and spend hours helping you get your little internet TV working so you could sit around all night watching gay porn and feeling good about yourself.

Now please, keep getting all wound up and shedding tons of little e-tears. I think its kind of cute and I'm way better at not giving a f**k than you. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight knowing your feelings are hurt, but you'll feel a lot better if you actually read the directions and try to help yourself before you spout off at the mouth.

P.S. Here's a little e-tissue for you. Hope you feel better.
I never took a swipe at the developer. Clearly, I struck a cord with you because you felt the need to come to his/her rescue. Obviously, I don't need to lecture you on being immature when you certainly don't have a hard time demonstrating your how immature you really are.

As I said before, I read through the top post a few times to find a solution to the PVR issue before my last post. The features simply aren't ready for prime time when it comes to the PVR stuff and that's okay...because this script is still in the alpha/beta stages. Please show me where I "took a swipe" at the developer. I did nothing of the sort. I guess you missed the part where I thanked the developer for his work. I also posted in his subreddit saying something similar.

And for starters, if you are going to give me shit...atleast know what I was actually asking about. My post was not about Internet TV. It was about PVR. I use MythTV and have a cablecard to get liveTV in XBMC. Something that PLTV does not work 100% with yet. And you are right, I do enjoy watching gay porn and it does make me feel good sometimes. Nice catch.

Lets be honest, you are just a combative person and you get off on being rude to people. I only discovered this script the other day and decided to try and use it. I have never said anything negative about this community other than my post about how negatively people in this thread react to posts about having issues or not liking certain features (or the lack thereof)....and you prove my point.

I have no idea how you were triggered by my little post. It clearly bothers you that people post here asking for help or have issues with the script.

Please, go find something to do that actually makes you happy instead of being a miserable, insufferable cunt to people on the internet. Don't waste your time with another post. I'm not going to see it.

I'm certainly no more than a newb myself, however I do know that debug logs help out a lot. Also as much info as you can give ... what type of media (local, stream, whatever).

You'll hopefully have more help if that stuff is posted.

First thing first, awesome plugin, pseudotv rocked, and pseudotv live is even better. However.... I broke it and I dunno how to fix! Lets get the nonsense outta the way, yes I've tried uninstalling and deleting the folders within my userdata and reinstalling. So everything was working fine until silly me got to experimenting and now when I press enter to open my EPG all I get is a black screen with the video playing in the background, if i press esc i can see the video again but pseudotv gets disabled and it just plays like a regular video without the channel changing options. No idea how I did this, no idea how to fix it, any ideas would be awesome. Thanks.

You'll need to post a debug log so that Luna can see what is happening.
Does anyone have a clue how to fix the issues I reported earlier, especially the one regarding only a handful of channels showing up/loading?

(2015-02-14, 13:42)jaochoo Wrote: Thanks for the update. It's great how often you push updates/bug fixes!

So I activated debugging in Kodi system settings now (before only had it activated in PTVL).

I'm still having the following ISSUES:

1. Only the first five of my channels are loaded even thigh I configured much more in the in-app manager. It's better than before (when only three would be loaded and some of those loaded now would not load at all) but there are still dozens that are not being loaded at all.

2. I had a "playback failed" message and PTVL crashed and immediately reopened again.

3. Pressing the stop-button on my remote will exit PTVL at first but it will automatically reopen again after several "playcount" (think its says something different but similar) messages.

4. On some channels, after switching to that channel, the info box blinks.

5. On plugin or YouTube channels, a message box "opening stream" or "YouTube opening video" pops up which kinda destroys the TV experience. This happens even though I have deactivated the "show notification" option in PTVL.

@jaochoo you need to read milkman guide
@lwfs edit your post and put that up on xbmclogs.com or pastebin.

I read milkmans guide (more than once actually) and I can't see how it answers any of the issues I mentioned above. I even think that milkman guide is about PseudoTV but not PTVL. Some issues I wrote about above should work according to milkmans guide. For example, the stop-button should stop and close PTVL according to milkmans guide but it's not working. Many of the channels I have setup (studio channels) should work as well according to milkmans guide (and they worked before btw) but as mentioned only the first five channels I set up are working but the rest is not.

I really can't see how milkman guide can help here, but I might be missing something, so please point me to where I have to look exactly.

In my experience sometimes when all the channels don't build it's because the next channel is bad, try replacing that channel with another one and run PTVL again

Same as Bigsteel99, if I have an issue with channel building or similar, take a look at the channel next. either temporary remove it or try and see what is obviously a miss. This has worked 9 times out of 10 for me.

Also as to your other points.

2) It did not "crash" PTVL just has an overlay that plays direct links to media. If playback fails there is nothing to show. So you see the main home menu of your kodi skin as if PTVL was not running. PTVL will then detect nothing is playing and try to change channel up 1. Incase you have unstable streams so it will automatically switch and find a working channel.

3) Again, this does not stop PTVL. Pressing stop plays the file your playing, either a crash of playback or you forcing stop will have PTVL think nothing is playing, and it will try to fix that by retrying or moving channel up 1.

4) Maybe an issue with the skin?

5) Been discussed before, PTVL notifications are to do with scanning for channels and background loading. The Opening stream ect messages from other plugins or Kodi it's self can not be removed or hidden, i believe it was discussed far back in the thread and it's an issue plugin developers have asked to be resolved but i believe there was something about it would promote ease of piracy or similar. not 100% but answer is you cant hide the pop ups at all and its not PTVL's fault.
