For those of you in ATSC land, is there a guide somewhere on how to set-up tvheadend and scan channels. I've looked at several of WeTek's YourTube videos and their forums, but not clear. I'm using their latest OpenELEC build. I've gone into OpenELEC and added (under 'Services') tvheadend, then enabled live TV. Now what? Scan directly from Kodi, or necessary to do something via PC? If latter, instructions somewhere?

There's a guide on how to set up tvheadend on the wetek forums, or any other tvheadend guide will do you (it's not platform dependent).

Basically you need to go in to the tvheadend webui via a pc on the same LAN and set it up from there.

Thanks. Think this is the one you're referring to. Will try it.

I purchased a powered hub, which cleared up all issues about my hard-drive not working: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0061...ge_o01_s00

Not as 'neat' as just an external hard-drive, but it does the job until I get around to setting up a NAS Smile

Having trouble figuring out how to set-up tvheadend...

1. Followed this YouTube tutorial, and think I got the OpenELEC/Kodi side fine
2. In tvheadend's configuration, I believe I'm stuck at this. What do I type in for frequency? I'm in U.S. ATSC land
3. I guess this just confirms that #2 was done incorrectly?

Appreciate any help. Also, after above is done correctly, how do you scan for channels (or is it automatic)? How do you then get EPG?

Hi hdmkv,

Find correct tuning data for your State, City...

http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/

http://www.tvfool.com/

Your issue is probably you are inserting wrong tuning data.

So, here are the two reports I get from the links you provided. How to tell what frequency value to type into tvheadend's configuration (looks like a single value is necessary)?

- One
- Two

Noggin, has written the best and easiest TvHeadend Tuner setup Mini Guide I have found....

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid1929846

Big Hint: Sometimes the TvHeadend preselects for Muxes are pretty out of data.
Your best bet is to choose one of the "Generic" options for pre-defined Muxes if you are having trouble tuning, and then edit and delete from the list, any that fail afterwards.

Second Tip, if you give us your exact location - someone may have the freq values etc available.

If I bought this would it be possible to record and time shift to my networked server via smb or does it need to be an external hard drive plugged in the side.
