[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
There may already be a thread about this, but I am not sure, so.

I am attempting to setup PseudoLiveTV and use it with Plex, Crackle, and my PVR. Here are the issues I am running into:

When I add Plex as a channel, and select the Directory (i.e. Movies) it just hangs. I have let it sit there for 3 hours and nothing has happened.

When I add Crackle, it keeps opening streams, but never actually adds Crackle as a channel nor any of the Crackle Movies. Nothing happens.

When I attempt to add my PVR (I am using MediaPortal) I receive an error saying the pvr channel database is empty.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I use IPTV Stalker with the PVR IPTV Simple Client. Do I have to add each individual channel, or will PTL search and automatically added the channels?
Just a note from me - Sorry I don't have more time to put up logs, file bug report etc. I have been using PTVL for a few years off and on. I recently got a new system and just today did a fresh install of Kodi and PTVL with only local content. Version 0.6.6h was really slow changing channels for me (consistently timed 2-3 seconds) with audio playing before video would come in. I tried reverting back to 0.6.6f and got approximately same times. I then tried 0.6.4c and am now getting the expected ~0.5 seconds between channel flips with no blue screen showing. I have no idea why this occurred, but thought I would post in case it's helpful to someone else.

Start from step 2 forward. It works

You cannot proceed to Step 3 because you cannot download the files to get USTV EPG Grab.bat because the dropbox link is broken.

This is why I stated this method does not work.

Anything on this? I noticed you got a PM about it, I'm having ENORMOUS difficulty trying to get PTVL to tell me what's on NBC at any given time. Dropbox link is still broken so I haven't gotten this to work easily.

You use WebGrab+, you download a text file for your guide, you copy and paste the channels you want into a config file, you run WG+, and it's done. Literally that easy.

Download what text file? Copy and paste channels into what config file? Run WG+ then run Kodi and open PTVL and USTVNOW pulls guidedata automatically?

There's a LOT of unanswered questions here, could you explain a little further on this? This is my first time trying to incorporate live tv channels from USTVNOW into PTVL so I'm having a hard time understanding how to make this work.

I'm on mobile at the moment so can't elaborate well but there is a lot of documentation on the webgrab plus website webgrabplus.com that will guide you through.

Please advise on next steps or if further info is needed.

Thanks!

Anything else needed on these logs? Thanks!

Anyone? Is it possible to run this on Amazon devices at all?

Errors creating files on the SMB share. Do you have channel sharing enabled? Try without that so it can create the stuff. Or see why it cant write to the SMB share

thats just my guess based on the logs.

Cheers!
Thank you! I will investigate that now. Big Grin

Okay that half works. I followed the documentation on the website but I'm not sure I'm all the way there. I have my guide.xml generated but what now? Do I move it into a ptvl folder somewhere? What about channel configuration, XMLTV Name doesn't give me an option to select anything other than pvr, zap2it and scheduledirect. Nothing there about guide.xml. Do I need to use the LiveTv channel type or internettv or something else?

I can't figure out much more on my own without likely tampering with the wrong thing;
My Kodi keeps freezing when I change to a channel that is "playing" a HEVC video, only freezes when changing the channel, if the video comes up next it plays without a problem.

Yeah so this definitely isn't as easy as you made it out to be. I've been at this all day and nothing has worked. Still no guide data and aside from PVR, the only options for XMLTV are ones that are "coming soon" that don't work. Am I supposed to move an XML file to the PTVL folder or USTVNow folder? Can you explain this a bit better?

Is there a simplified way of doing this? I'd really like to avoid reading a 682 page novel that is this thread just to maybe find an answer.

Did you set the XMLTV File Location under DVR in the Options?

Hmmmm, I'm guessing you must have a different skin than me because mine looks nothing like that. I didn't set that up, probably the simple step I am missing. I'm at work now so I'll have to confirm later on tonight if that's the solution.

Yes you will need to do that.
Cannot get guidedata working properly for USTVNow despite enormous amounts of help from jctennis. Looks like you have to donate in order to access this feature
So, I'm having a problem programming custom channels. to start with, the first time I ran the newest update of PTVL, the program generated any number of RSS feeds and custom youtube channels (including some clever ones that incorporated multiple youtube channels onto a single PTVL channel). However, the program would not recognize any channels I tried to program in, including USTV channels, youtube channels, etc. I could delete channels but I couldn't add or change them.

I purged the channels and started from scratch and the program will not recognize any channels I enter in - not using the in-app configuration tool, not directly into the settings2.xml file and not using the PTVL manager (which does not seem to work with the latest build of Kodi). When I manually enter a new channel, the program simply ignores it as if it is not there. Even when I use auto-generated code from the first new set of channels I generated and copy and paste that code exactly into the settings.xml, the program still ignores it as if it isn't there. I will see the channel appear in the channel configuration menu but the program will never actually generate any programming and the channel will not appear in the epg.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Works ok for me. Took me a while to get it to work, ended up using zap2xml.
