Intel VAAPI howto with Leia v18 nightly based on Ubuntu 18.04 server
@fritsch: Just wanted to thank you for all your hard work. I am running the latest isengard (10/17), passthrough, limited out no dithering on a Haswell Chromebox going to a calibrated Panasonic V-series plasma. Black, White and Greyscales are perfect! From the first passthrough build the greyscales have been amazing. I have never had any audio sync issues using passthrough.

Thanks Again.

Which build is that? The one I posted in experimental?

Can you post me: dmesg | pastebinit and a kodi.log please?

Thanks in advance.

I have tried all of the isengards but starting with OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-devel-20151001091212-r21356-ISENGARD-PASSTHROUHG-ge46f19a to the latest experimental OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-devel-20151017132311-r21495-gb1801a4 is when the greyscale got amazing. I am much more of a home theater guy then computer, but I'll read the wiki tomorrow and hopefully get those to you.

Thanks again for your work.

Using the 10/17 Jarvis build - everything looks beautiful and no issues to report. Still having my refresh rate change/screen goes crazy issue but I am pretty sure that's hardware related. Working on a way to figure that out when the wife isn't around.

Amazing work as always guys

I cannot help without a Debug Log and the kernel output ...

I will work on it today or next few days - it's very inconsistent - I get the feeling it's the avr or proejctor but will see.

I will enable debug and keep changing refresh rates - what kernel output do you need or is that part of the debug?

Just installed the last OE isengard build. (haswell chromebox)
And played a few 4k test files, on the bbb_sunflower I have like 7k skips after 4 min but it plays super smooth, and looks great a few build ago it was getting muddy/pixelig from time to time.
I played another 4k file (Costa Rica in 4k 60fps) and it looks amazing on my Samsung, (downscale with lancos3)
What I wanna say is Thanks for the work, making my Kodi experience even better.

No issues here but there is a log

Would be really cool if you would do that. Thanks much in advance.

Are the VAAPI improvements in this version (15.2)?
Or do you think it will be in next version:

We target 17.0

Installing to a second USB stick ran into some problems, so I decided to use a laptop HDD kicking around. Things are running pretty smoothly. Do get some intermittent black screens after watching a video. Normally, I just play the video again to get around the problem. Working pretty nicely otherwise... You guys are sure this is an alpha!? Big Grin

One thing that is a nuisance is that my on-board LAN is not giving me gigabyte ethernet. Saw a couple of posts on how to fix in Ubuntu, but it did not work. Any suggestions on how to fix with this build would be helpful. I'm using the ASRock N3150-ITX motherboard with Realtek RTL8111GR: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/N3150-ITX/
