Kodi on the new AppleTV4
Thank you everyone on the last two pages for the tips on transferring files with DropBox, you are the best! I will tinker with it tonight and see what happens. My original post was deleted, to show how picky some people can become.

Not sure what was in your first post, but primarily posts are deleted because they violate the forum rules.

How can we support the developer?
By reporting bugs and sending logs?

No specifically said do not do that. He does not want to support this build.

When he's ready, he will let us know.
Ok, great.
He did amazing work for the first build.

Weiter so Memphiz;-)
Are the Terminal command steps from iOS the same for tvOS? I don't get any errors in any of the terminal command steps but once I load up the Kodi project in Xcode I'm getting a lot of failures when building (30+) for the tvOS target. Any ideas?

I believe Memphiz said that proper bugs from testing were okay to report. Support for installing and addons was what he did not want to deal with.

Edit: here was the post

So..

Drigga, if you have a bug to report that isn't related to an addon or installing and isn't in the main post, please post it here.
I have the "failed to start commoncache" Message. Not really a big bug, just noticed this annoying Message.

Sorry if thats a noobish report. Unfortunately I'm not a Pro.

Same error here after installing Dropbox. Hoping someone knows the answer
I think that's cause by the Advance settings. i did a fresh start and didn't reinstall it now i don't get that message anymore
Ok, as we're allowed to report bugs.

I had it installed and working, but at one point I was viewing the movie list and chose "scrape extra fanart" (I can't remember the exact wording) from the context menu. It started downloading but 2 or 3 minutes in the whole thing crashed. Since then, if I try and start Kodi, I just get a black screen. I can hear some sound (pressing the Menu/Back button gives the usual swoosh, but I seem to be able to just press it infinitely and it doesn't actually do anything other than make the sound).

I've tried force closing it and rebooting the ATV, but always the same result. That installation is clearly broken and at some point I'll either completely delete it and reinstall, or just wait for a new version and overwrite it.

Just reporting the bug Smile

Some plugins require that plugin though

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Platypus2, you are correct, I missed that, sorry.

So the common cache bug is not related to this build, but related to v17 nightlies in general, which is what this Kodi build is based off.

So please, if you're testing with this Apple TV 4 build, verify with a desktop master branch this is an issue with ATV4 specifically and not a general v17 problem.

v17 (aka master branch builds) are as followed:

OSX: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/osx/x...x86_64.dmg
WIN32: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/win32...master.exe
Android/ARM: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk
Android/X86: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...er-x86.apk

If you can replicate your issue in any of the builds above, this is not a issue with Memphiz's Apple TV 4 build, but a generic V17 issue and will likely not be looked at until after Jarvis/16 comes out..

Memphiz built this against 17 in hopes it can get into it, but the focus isn't on 17 yet, but will be once 16 comes out.

fyi no one will care about commoncache problem cause it had issues since long time. Search and you'll feel no out.
Second remove that superrepo stuff cause it absolutely not supported here. Any issue I see where you will have that installed will be moved to the trash.
