Can any of you confirm that you can get cleart art widget view without any panel in backgroud like just clearart and not background at all ? cos i tried in silvo there was no option to remove panel background completely

no - not possible to remove the backround for a single widget

so what you saying is new widget setting yoy not able to change setting for single widget for example i want to set a random movies widget and i choose clearart so what you saying is i wont be able to remove panel background for that ?? if not then i hope we get this option back as it would be nice to change setting for each widget as it is right now in madnox

just a quick sitrep from me:

some infos first:
1. i test with a clean madnox and skinshortcut setup ( i rename my old "skin.aeon.madnox" and "script.skinshortcuts" folder to get a fresh one )
2. you will find some new options in "skin settings > Customizers > General Main Menu Settings" - you will find there some general Widget options( back panel, transparency ... )

now my "findings" "wishes" ... ( maybe mentioned before, but i will just list up all my thoughts now )

1. no Infolines at all

2. some text colors are blue by default - this can be fixed after we merged it to our main jarvis branch ... but since silvo mod is using color mod too, this should be change by default ( to use the chosen color in "color chooser" and not the blue one )

3. episode "titles are always " how many seasons and how many episodes like " 4x99 " = 4 seasons with 99 episodes - would be much better if there will be just the episode info and title like for example : "S03E05 - BLABLABLA" or "3x05 - BLABLABLA" or maybe "TV SHOW NAME S03E05 - BLABLABLA"

4. maybe we can expand the panel at the bottom, to put the title over the panel area instead of a free area over the fanart ( when you have a colorfull fanart its hard to read ) - check for my GFX mokup some pages back maybe

5. i love the movie info in second widget place, when you activate it and dont use a second widget !!! maybe the info textbox need to move some pxls up and expand some pixels ... the last line is cut of a bit - again, can be fast fixed in the end ... just a small cosmetic thing ( thats what i can do too ... with me immense coding skills hehe )

6. not realy sure, but i have also the feeling, that the order function doesnt work properly... but need more testing there ( i crash my sql database yesterday... dont ask why ^^ )

7. maybe i dont see it yet, but is it possible to choose the "main" menu item ? the focused item when you come back to main menu ? or do i need to control it by moving the menu items up/down ? ( i want to start on tv shows when i start kodi and when i come back from other items )

well... thats after a realy short test now but i will test some more tomorrow morning
if anybody of you Mr.V or Sir Bob need some screenshots - just call me what you need

i try to finish the system icons tomorrow too ( was too busy today - sorry )

besides some small ( i think fixable ) problems, its running realy nice here ( and much faster like before ) - realy nice work A-Team !!! well done

and for all Madnox friends out there... maybe we will lost one or two old features... but we need to add this upgrade, or we will get more and more problems because of old addons... so sometimes you need to break something and learn something new to be happy again

we need to wait for Mr.V or Sir Bob - but ... well i am not a coder... but you can disable all panels... so i would say it should be possible to add this option in the single widget option too maybe ... but like i say ... Mr.V and Sir Bob are the main players now ( Daddy Mike Silvo will be ... or better say SHOULD be away for a longer time now... )

Mr V., thank you so much! In general, the widgets work great.

I have seen also some of the issues mentioned, like the infolines not working for any menu option. I have encountered a couple more issues:

1. I have no labels for the weather widget, just icons. I think this is something that Bob Cratchett looked at and fixed before, so I guess we can expect a fix in the future. Also, there is no possibility to select a label type for the weather widget, the option is not there.

2. For the Recent Episodes widget, the only widget art types I can select are poster and fanart, and before we could select most of the same types available for movies (clearat, banner, thumb, etc)

I will continue to test and report other issues, if any, as I find them.

For startup focus option, what I found is that whatever menu option I have in the fifth position (from top to bottom in the customizer) will be focused on KODI startup. Hope that helps.

I thought it was third, but all of the testing I have done after I reset my settings show that, at least in my case, the fifth one is the one that is focused on startup. I am not entirely sure though if the fifth now was the third before I customized the menu.

3. Any Episode widget should display "3x05 Episode Name". May be a screen shot of the which part of the widgets you mean. I cant find any issues with the code

6. Strange. I found if you went from 'setup main menu' to 'general main menu settings' while skin shortcuts was writing the main menu I would get a crash. The menu will now build soon as you exit 'setup main menu'. Not sure if is related. Also If I do a skin refresh while in 'general main menu settings I get a crash. I am thinking some older code may need some more rework.

7. Seems like the only way Atm, without some code changes.

The 'sort order' and 'sort by' don't seem to work for playlists. When selecting 'sort by' and choosing ascending it sets 'sort order' in the window and sort order isn't selectable, nothing appears to allow random to be selected. I have a playlist which is configured as Random but is not working when selected. I know Bob did a change with regards to 'random' but that may have been lost with the latest update?

This seems to be widget 2, if I setup widget 1 as random I get sort by and sort order and it works but not widget 2?

Also, sources is no longer available as a choice or Skin shortcuts defaults as well?

Infolines aren't working as well.

All fixed.

Default widgets are not shown. They are spread out within the custom widget groupings. The overrides do need some more work and some more discussion with bob. I am thinking a combination of our ideas. So there still might be some changes in the future to how the widget selection is displayed.

i apologize for asking this again as i've seen no replies to my question. i've been using this skin since it was in private beta.

on the jarvis master build how can i use smart playlists? i can see nothing for smart playlists now, for instance if you want to show latest movies for a smart playlist like i didn in the past. where smart playlists used to be is widget settings or something like that. just not sure how to do what i used to in this jarvis build. i read the first post again and didn't see anything either. i'm sorry if there is something i'm missing.

unless i'm doing something wrong it definitely isn't like how it used to be to use smart playlists and i've set up the old isengard version probably 20 times. this jarvis edition seems completely different. for instance, i have a playlist of all my son's videos. i add a custom entry to the screen of his name with all his videos and the background would be fanart of all his videos. i can do this easily on isengard version in my sleep. with this jarvis version the options to do it like isengard aren't there. where smart playlist was before is something about a widget.

Big update for all for the widgets. I have 100% implemented everything within silvo widgets to madnox, too much to test to see if it is fully working or not so I invite the community to try and break the widgets. I have done some basic testing and all seems ok.

Things to note;
- Now playing Info visibly condition are not complete. So there may be some slight overlap.
- I have temporally removed the system info widget. I will re-add this soon with additional options
- The way you select the widget type has changed (for now anyway). More to think about and discuss with bob.
- Lots of missing icons when selecting widget type

The Widgets;
- 'General main menu settings' is the place to look for global widget settings
- 'Setup the madnox main menu' all settings on a per widget basis are here.
- This is for KODI JARVIS ONLY, so if you install this on isengard expect things to break. So bug reports only if you are running JARVIS.

this one is realy just a TESTING Branch in WIP ... and its realy different from the actual one ( to configure )
