v17 Shield ATV - Krypton (pre) Alpha 1 PT audio issues & Test Builds

As your machine does not use the android6 passthrough, yeah - please test it if you find time. Your hw should use the old IEC raw passthrough method. You can PM me the Thread you are testing in.

Just for clarification (again Wink ), Android API PT (i.e. non-IEC) is available as of Android 5 for AC3 and EAC3. Afaik, most Android (actual) TV like Sony are at that level.
Android 6 brings DTS and DTS-HD (e.g. for Shield and Nexus Player, although DTS-HD is actually converted to DTS by the NP itself)
TrueHD is not official, yet, and limited to the Shield.

IEC PT is *nowhere* in the Android API, so depends purely on the firmware implementing it somehow.
And here is another build: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk - currently something is broken on the amazon firetv a colleague reported, investigating.

Happy for logfiles.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
Beware with the FireTV. They *only* use IEC, apparently, surely FireOS 3.
Even on FireOS 5, if you use their mediacodec decoder, it produces IEC frames. Very confusing Wink
Sorry if it's not the right place to ask but I just wanted to know if on my NVidia Shield Android TV I can have both the v16 for daily use and v17 for testing and trying to help the community ...

Thanks in advance for your replies ...

Koying is correct, I want to test if Kodi uses the official Android PT mechanism (available as of Android 5.1) properly.

Here we go again: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk

Thanks for your reports.

PS: This makes older builds obsolete.

Mind giving it another try?

Here is a new testbuild for you all: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk (turn the volume down, please when testing). :-) one moment.
No problem. Thank you.
Some people in kodi's team chat did not go to party, so: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/andro...bi-v7a.apk

PPPST: Some people say that the FireTV does DTS and AC3 with this build :-)

Thanks for posting, I was about to test the previous build. I'll wait for this.
