Great progress already and also something a bit funny......

ISOs now play directly (I still have the dropped frame and stuttering issues but that seems more down to my CPU or incorrect dll version for my CPU at best).

Weirdly without the intel dll in the kodi folder (I forgot to put it in on first run after installing the above build) it still attempted to play in 3D, a frame packed signal was output however it was 2D only (decoder in use looked to be ff-h264-d3d11 or something from memory)...

i3 are different. Hardware decoding works on Intel 3th Generation CPUs and later i.e. Ivy Bridge and later.

So basically any of the newer model NUCs should be fine?

decoding is possible on any version of windows, but hardware based output possible in Win8 and later. on Win7 you can display MVC in any mode except hardware based i.e. Over/Under, Side by Side, Interlaced, Anaglyph.

N3700 - Intel® InTru™ 3D Technology No
Assume that means it's a no go.

1. Intel Core™ i3-4010U is more than enough. But if you want to buy a NUC I would recommend with any Intel Skylake CPUs
2. I'm no sure what Pentium N3700 supports hardware based 3D output.
3. I would recommend this one http://nucblog.net/2016/01/skylake-nuc-r...h-core-i3/
