A follow up to the sound problems with the audio extractor....

Identifying the first Milhouse build with this issue would be useful.
Might be worth trying the hdmi_audio_config options from here.

Just tried the latest build 317 and the audio is the same with no DTS or DD passthrough.

However following your link from above I have found that if I disable the MMAL player and just have the OMX player enabled then I get DTS and DD pass through each and every time. It is noted on the amp and plays fine.

Would you have any idea as to why this should happen and will there be any issues with running these builds of Kodi 17 with the players set as I have done...?


EDIT:

Ooops never noticed this before being enabled (hangs head in shame) but the option "Sync playback to Display" was enabled and thus no DTS passthrough, only with MMAL player. However untick that option and then all is well.

I'm trying to make a small portable image copy of the SD card running OpenELEC system. This would be a complete back up of good running OpenELEC or a sample to email to a friend to try it on his system.

I can use running Ubuntu on my Pi and connect OpenELEC SD card to USB port.
Using GPorted re-size second partition to about 300MB.
Using DD copy beginning of the SD card to include both partitions - less then 1GB
This will compress to about 300mb for complete image of the running OpenElec SD card.

I can restore the image to any SD size using DiskImager or similar.

Now here is where I get stuck. I'm missing "fdisk" on OpenElec build to resize second partition to the size of the new disk. I can do it with Ubuntu using GPorted or fdisk but not directly on OpenElec. This would be preferred method if I give the image to friend to test it on his setup.

After partition resize with GPorted or fdisk using resize2fs should correct file access to full partition again.

I know there is a back up and restore function inside OpenElec but imaging of SD card has it's benefits.

Is there a way to install fdisk to OpenELEC system? Any other way to automatically resize the second partition and file system to a full disk size?

I found the answer to my own question
I had old small SD card and I set up OpenELEC again.
At the beginning of the process for re partitioning of the SD after fresh image Kodi16 "parted" command popped on the top left of the screen.

Parted is included and working in OpenELEC to re-size SD partitions

I'm experience a "no signal" issue on 2 of my 3 Pi's.

I have 3 different TVs each with a Raspberry Pi 2. I was very interested in getting HEVC to play back well, and the Milhouse builds are doing very well in that regard.

My cheap Westinghouse 720p TV seems to work OK with the Kodi 17 Milhouse builds, though it required a video callibration to correct overscan that had never been necessary for any previous Opelenec builds.

The Vizio and the Samsung TVs both lose signal with the Pi 2 on any Kodi 17 Milhouse build that I try after either shutting the TV off and back on, or switching source away from and back to the Pi 2s.

Switching back to Openelec 6 makes the issue go away, though I can then no longer play HEVC content well at all. I can always repro the "no signal" issue on a Milhouse build and always fix it by rolling back to a stable release.

Let me know what I can do to help troubleshoot.

And another question. Sometimes in latest builds it happens that all addons are marked as disabled. Where is this data written? I am asking because i want to enable them under the hud to be quicker.

Confluence is still being maintained by Hitcher and can be installed from the Repository.

Hello,
I have RP2 with Latest KODI 17.0 and have problem with 3D. All settings are as suggested but Full HD 3D in frame packed output works only for .ISO files. MKV with 3D.MVC. in file names does't work.
on some files 3D.mkv are played back as 2D(files from kodi sample files). And on some movie files projector recognizes 3D source but picture is messy green mess just possible to see some messy frames off the previous 3D movie which was played ok. (.ISO file). Checked "tvservice -s" over SSH. And the Pi is sending the correct signal. Exactly the same output when projector show 3d or not show. Seems RP2 sends frame packed format always ,just sometimes projector does't recognize for some reason.
Can't understand where could be the problem? How to debug?

Does OE 6.0.3 have the same issue?
After the hang can you post dmesg output? (dmesg | pastebinit)
Can you try from a clean setup:

See if you still see the hang after doing only minimal setup (and without installing add-ons). If it doesn't help you can get back with:
