-50p and wifi problem gets sorted out

They are two separate apps, so no, SPMC will NOT install over Kodi. I suggest you either:
A: Back up Kodi in full then delete. Install SPMC, open, close then copy across the folders within .kodi to .spmc.
B: Install SPMC, copy across folders within .kodi to .spmc. in the device, then delete Kodi.
I have done both ways

Is there anyway to remove the splash screen when SPMC starts? I tried the following in advancesettings.xml: <splash>false</splash> w/ out success.

I have an animated file that I use when SPMC launches - currently the SPMC splash screen comes up first and then the animated intro.

I read that, but the file is not a static/.png file - rather a video/mp4 animated file.

I have the shield tv and was checking if voice command works with video files that are stored on an external hard drive connected to the shield tv, i have tried using it but only get results from youtube. I have the latest spmc installed

Not sure if this is the recommended/latest Shield release but I am still seeing sync issues when using Passthrough and Auto Refresh together.
If I disable either one the sync is fine again (same thing with Kodi experimental)

Shield > HDMI 1.2 Receiver > HDMI 1.2 TV.

Correct, disable sync to display and use refresh rate.
