Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows
Just run kodi.exe -p from wherever you installed it - great feature

Well I tried thisand got it to play although only with the internal filters and not with the external ones. With the internal, it didn't want to use dxva2 for my graphics card like it normally does when running with mpc-hc and lav filters. I also notice the latest version seems to be jarvis beta? Unfortunately, I dont' really see the point in this when MPC-HC is updated and everything works. The only reason I'm trying to get away from this setup is because I'd like one remote that works with everything.

Try the link in the set up guide. It is for Jarvis 16.1. You should be able to use DXVA2. DSPlayer uses the same LAV Filters as any other program.

I will try that link, but I believe it looked the same as the one I got. I believe I had the same problem with mpc-hc. Using the internal filters it would not do hardware decoding, I had to use the external filters. Is there a way to add the external filters and just have them work for everything? I first added the splitter/source/audio/video decoder external and it wouldnt do anything, I'm sure I was missing something there.

I don't believe that the internal filters (0.68) will not allow hardware acceleration. It has worked for hundreds of other users including myself. This must be a set up issue.

You can use external filters. Follow the example in the guide. You need to add each filter in Filters Configuration and then assign these filters to content using Media Rules. Select Media rules and Filters configuration to open access to these menus.

Try these files: DSPlayer Starter Kit.

Install them into the Kodi userdata folder in the folder labelled "dsplayer."

Personally, I would investigate why the internal filters are not working correctly. This would save the hassle of installing identical copies of the same filters.

How can I see what's running when using this? With mpc I can right click and select filters and then lav video to confirm what it's using for decoding. I also seem to be having a problem with reclock saying my board doesn't support it. I think that usually happens when something else is trying to use the sound. Its working fine with mpc hc as external player. What I thought was strange is I had this version running and used my default of mpc hc external and it was doing software decode. Switched to my normal version of kodi with mpc external and its doing hardware.

Try Video Settings -> Filters list

Set ReClock to 96,000 Khz / 24 bit integer padded to 32. WASAPI Exclusive.

But I have to exit out of the film to do that. I know what is running, what I don't know is what decoder it is actively using.

No. If you access Codec Info (O on the keyboard with standard keymap) you get the list of codecs used. LAV filters followed by (i) mean that Kodi is using the internal ones of DSPlayer.
Once you are sure of that, you press M to bring up the menu, then you select Video Settings from the on screen menu (all this while the video is playing), you go to Filter Lists, you select the filter you want info on and its config window will appear, just as, in MPC-HC, doing right-click/filters/filter's name.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

DSPlayer is a great idea and works great you just need to get your settings in check.

Thank you, this is very good info. I did get it running last night with the internal filters and reclock. I will see if I can get the external filters to work as I prefer to keep them updated. Does anyone know if this setup will play 3d mvc mkv like the mpch-hc plus lav and madvr will?

I can't use exclusive fullscreen in this, is that a problem? I get black screen on exit no matter what unless I disable fullscreen exlusive.

Got it working with the external filters, everything seems to be working, but reclock keeps popping up a box saying invalid argument at the start of the film. Anyone have any ideas on this? It didn't do this on the internal filters. Reclock does appear to be working regardless.

Your audio device doesn't support the frequency and bit depth chosen (e.g. 96,000 khz / 24 bit). You might be better off using Sanear. ReClock should be used with an AV receiver.

I do have a receiver. There is something with dsplayer wasabi exclusive and reclock. I switched the settings in reclock and no more error. Now its all working and reclock appears to be working but madvr is reporting 1 frame drop every 30 seconds. Reclock is reporting refresh rate at 24 hz and madvr reporting it at 23.97 which I'm sure is the issue. This whole setup been working for 5 years with Mpc hc perfectly.

All working except 3d mpc mkv if anyone knows how to get that working.

EDIT: Two issues I noticed when trying to get this to work are I've had to go back into settings at least twice now as Kodi seems to forget the dsplayer settings and sets them back to default. I.E. everything goes back to default for Audio renderer internal filters etc.

When playing a 3d hsbs mkv last night, it asked me to pick the stream. A box popped up from KODI sayings pick stream one or two. I've never seen something like this is KODI and it I'm assuming its specfic to dsplayer, I've watched this movie multiple times and never seen this box pop up on anything else. The big problem with it is it doesn't seem to be able to be controlled from the Kodi remote, I need to go and click something, usually cancel button in the box to get rid of the box with a mouse application.
