Mod Arctic Zephyr: Generations (Jarvis / Leia) [3.4.70 / Coming Soon]

(2016-06-13, 11:15)Guardian Hope Wrote: For everyone: I've been reviewing through all the changes of 3.2.10/3.2.11/4.0.01 and couldn't find why the "refresh" button just disappeared. I'm sure I just missed something but I've added all sorts of visibility conditions to try and get it to pop up and haven't had any success. A second, third, and even fourth pair of eyes may be of help Smile.

I just checked the code and visibility is restricted to Container.Content(episodes) for both focussed and non-focussed layouts.. I added the movie container to both and it's now working (I also changed episodes to tvshows).

For some reason this causes a weird scrolling issue with the last two buttons.

For some reason, I kept trying to set it as a second visibility condition rather than piping it. I don't have a single clue why I was doing that but when you brought up what you brought up that made me realize what mistake I was making. It's always those pipes that'll get you Wink.

Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes ("Spring 2016 Update Rollup Patch Level 2 (PL2)")
3.2.12 (dormer) / JARVIS ONLY RELEASE

The Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes "Spring 2016 Update Rollup Patch Level 2 (PL2)" update addresses an issue where the refresh button would not display on movies as well as corrects the syntax used for displaying the refresh button. Please thank Rubicon99 on the Kodi forums for the expedited correction. This update also addresses an issue where a release version would be displayed with the "debug flag" set to "True."

Via Enterprise CDN (Jarvis - Dormer): https://embycdn.northebridge.com/AZFA/do...3.2.12.zip
Available in the Emby Beta Repo
No corresponding GitHub Release Available

The fix included in Patch Level 2 has already been slipstreamed to the 3.2.20 and 4.2.20 releases. For users of Krypton, the 4.2.20 release will address this issue as well as the the inability to enable the skin. Due to how quickly this fix was released, there is no corresponding 3.2.12 GitHub source code. You may browse the changes on GitHub at commit https://github.com/NortheBridge/skin.arc...769c175683 for Jarvis (Dormer) and https://github.com/NortheBridge/skin.arc...ea015817cb for Krypton (Danvers).

Changelog:

Code:
3.2.12 (3.2.12_bsrelease01) - "From Ashes Spring 2016 Update Rollup Patch Level 2 (PL2)"
JARVIS ONLY UPDATE
Fixed Refresh Button
Fixed False Debug Setting in "About From Ashes"

Bad News and Good News for OSMC/LibreElec/OpenElec

I wanted to give everyone an update for those of you running a Raspberry Pi (2 or 3) with OSMC, LibreElec, and OpenElec. The Project Lead who we have been working with in the investigation as to why Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes crashes these distributions on the Pi has noted that a "potential hardware [driver] mouse pointer improvement [present in OSMC/LibreElec/OpenElec] may be the potential cause for the AZ:FA crashes on the Pi running any of the aforementioned distributions. We will continue to work with OSMC on producing a fix. Although we have not reached out to LibreElec and OpenElec, we can only hope that they too will include a fix once the issue has been investigated and that this is deduced as being the problem causing From Ashes to crash on OSMC.

The Known Bugs of AZ:FA Summer 2016 Update
Code:
Cover Art overlaps with Rotten Tomatoes
Rotten Tomatoes Functionality Is Currently Glitched When Viewing TV Shows

These are not considered bugs but not all view types have the Rotten Tomatoes integration yet and will be slowly updated as their position is determined per a view type.

After the Summer 2016 Update: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes Anniversary Edition (Codenamed "Danvers")

Following the release of the the Summer 2016 Update to Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes, the Jarvis compatible "Dormer" line (3.x) will be moved from "General Availability" status to "Long Term Support" status. This means that the Dormer line will not receive further updates except for maintenance patches like fixing the Cover Art overlap or ensuring that Rotten Tomatoes is added to all the view types. The reason for the transition to LTS status is that Krypton introduces a number of changes that are simply incompatible with Jarvis and thus the "Dormer" line. The "Danvers" line (4.x) designed for Krypton will technically be considered "pre-release software" until such time that Krypton goes beta. As you might have guess, the "Danvers" line will be known as "Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes Anniversary Edition" as it will likely be reaching general availability about the time the AZ:FA project started nearly a year ago.

An example of what will happen is this: @minus0 I believe was telling me he had a few more tweaks for the color enhancer (the "Fifth Generation Color Enhancer") but they will only be found in the Anniversary Edition ("Danvers" line) while a bugfix like CoverArt alignment will be present in both the "Dormer" and "Danvers" line since it's a bug that needs to be fixed and applicable to both.

A lot of people are starting to migrate towards Krypton so this effectually lessens the burden of work required to maintain the skin.

Pulled AZ:FA from 4.2.20-dev branch with latest version of Krypton and crashes upon switching to skin. Unexpected error.

I tried variations of the installation; Emby repository beta and duration script. I do not have an Emby server.

Any help?

Sorry to hear about your experience; I should have prefaced that the current GitHub branch is missing a number of changes (i.e. DialogConfirm.xml is just an empty XML file at the moment). I need to push the changes made to get it working still.

Sorry about that.

Even though I am fairly certain what the issues are still on the GitHub branch, could you provide a debug level log. I just want to be certain that 4.2.20 comes out as smoothly as possible.

Hey everyone, I've been using this skin for a while but I've only just started using it with emby server. Before the switch to emby, my discart was displayed on the osd when playing an album but now it doesn't. I was missing quite a few before which was one of the main reasons I started using emby, to better manage my metadata. I've looked through the skin settings and emby but I can't see anything that would stop discart from being displayed, am I missing anything?

Hi Everyone,

Firstly let me start by saying that this is a great looking skin and the developers of this mod have obviously done a lot of great work to get it looking so great !

I'm having a few random issues - i just installed in to jarvis 16.1 but for some reason when i try and create a widget for a menu item it just says none and doesnt give me the option to select the path to where i want the widget pulled from ? It allows me to select a path via side bar menu {where it says select custom widget path} and this then shows up in widgets menu under settings but doesn't let me select it in any way ! Can someone give me a brief explanation of how to set up widgets for this skin to get me started it would be much appreciated

many thanks

Adding a DialogConfirm allowed me to switch to it; however, many screens were hidden behind one another in 4.2.2.0-dev. Switched to a Jarvis build in the meantime.

In Jarvis:

BUG #1: Main 'Highlight Color' seems to default orange (when you click default and when the skin is first initialized); however, once you go to main it defaults to a color as shown in first post. You can continue to press 'Defaults' and you'll see the color. Two colors seem to be mentioned in the code.

BUG #2: In 'Skin Settings' Home tab allows you to go from top to bottom - then to top if you continued to press down; however, every other tab does not have that capability. You can however, go bottom to top - then bottom if you continued to go up.

OSMC Update
From Ashes Summer 2016 Update Delayed Until OSMC Update

The update causing Raspberry-Pi's to crash when using Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes has been Resolved. The update will be released on Sunday and we will release From Ashes' Summer 2016 Update shortly thereafter.

If you want to run AZ:FA on a Raspberry Pi with OSMC you MUST upgrade to the latest OSMC version. We will let you know when it's released or you can follow OSMC's site for more details.

Here's a preview (note how From Ashes is indicating an unreleased version of OSMC):

We will notify other distributions that had this problem (LibreELEC and OpenELEC) but at the moment AZ:FA only officially supports the OSMC Distribution.

@Habitual_Sinner

While I only use Emby for TV Shows and Movies rather than Audio (that's what iTunes and iCloud is for but to be fair I get most of my content from iTunes for TV and Movies too), one thing I can think to try is to go to "Configure Emby Server" form the Emby Server icon in your taskbar (if running Emby Server on the same system) and login to the Emby Server Admin page. Go to metadata manager and see if it acquired all the metadata for your music. There are several other options available for audio that you might need to take a look at.

On the Kodi and skin side, you may have to change the menu to tell it to use the "Emby" audio library. This is done from Skin Settings and manage the Home Screen. Just change what the button does when you click it. Emby options will have the Emby icon and then it will present you with a list of "All," recent, and other options to that affect. Select "All. and you should be good to go. Alternatively, make sure Emby downloads the NFO require for Kodi to naively read the metadata.

You can hop on over to emby.media and ask the community for further assistance. They are pretty great at helping out.

Widgets still run on the old Isengard code rather than the Jarvis code. This might not be corrected after I announced that full development effort is moving from Jarvis to Krypton (obviously it'll work in Krypton). It's been a known issue since the release. If someone wants to take on fixing Widgets for Jarvis they can; just be sure to submit it to GitHub so I can credit you.

Don't worry, we're getting that fixed. I had it running stable on Krypton a few days ago but a lot of things are in motion and as I did say, 4.2.20 does not have the latest updates from local (if you go to GitHub and look at how far ahead 3.2.20 is you'll see what I mean).

For your bugs:

Bug #1: Settings -> Appearance -> Colors -> Dark with Light Dialogs. To further customize the color after those changes simply go back a screen and go to "Skin Settings." You'll find the 4th Generation Color Enhancer there and will be able to make the skin look pretty much however you want.

Bug #1A: @minus0 - If you are reading this, feel free to fix it if you like but remember that we are depreciating Jarvis to "Long Term Support" (only bugfixes) where "Dark with Light Dialogs" "Main High Color" won't change to its default when you press "Default" and will revert to the turquoise once you're back on the main menu. I've observed this on Mac, Windows, and Linux (ARM).

Bug #2: It'll be addressed as part of the Danvers releases which are for Krypton.

Thats great thanks for letting me know {did think it was strange} ill try it on krypton later - can i ask could you please put the ability to add additional hubs into menu {i know you have one for tv & one for movies} I like the idea of having one for sports / one for kids section and one for music {plus if you add an additional widget inside the hub i think that would look awesome}

thanks for all you do

Now I just need to wait for Libreelec to push these fixes, but I am looking forward in using your skin again soon! (Or switching to OSMC lol)

Hey, does anybody have any idea as to why this is happening (look at the bottom of the screen):

Image

Image

I believe this started after installing skin.arctic.zephyr.braz. However, I have since removed that skin, uninstalled and reinstalled Kodi, deleted the guisettings etc, yet I am still having this issue (even with the latest version of this skin). I am running Jarvis.

Any help would be much appreciated!

@Moviefan445

Do me a favor an go to Power -> About From Ashes and take a picture of that screen. I left certain markers on that screen which may tell me why you are seeing what you are seeing and if I am right it will be easy for you to fix.

Hmm, this is an odd one. I had thought you had gotten a hold of a version of the skin that was in development which was why I asked you to post a picture of that screen but it seems you did not.

Two followup questions: 1) When you reinstalled Kodi, did you make sure to delete the Kodi addons directory; 2) Is your screen by any chance 16x10 rather than 16x9?

Your screen is actually not displaying the skin in full screen and that is where lies the issue. In your initial screenshot of the main menu I thought you got a hold of a pre-release version that wasn't ready but when you took a picture of the About From Ashes screen, there is still a black bar that is not there. That screen only uses the background texture and it's set to take 100% of the screen.

Do me a favor, set the log level to debug, restart Kodi, and exit it. Then paste that log to somewhere like Pastebin and I can have a better look at what's going on.

I've honestly never seen anything like this come up so a log file would help. Kodi is clearly not fitting to your screen as evident by the black bar at the bottom of "About From Ashes" that doesn't actually exist.

Great skin, just switched from eminence to this one. Quick question though, is it possible to reser the view settings? I waa using list view for my videos and accidentally clicked on 'use low list'. Now the list view has lost tne details under the fan art and the option has disappeared.
