v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)
Please users with Nvidia GPU check vdpauinfo from GTX950 upwards, maybe you can post here, im curious if they change something with HEVC 10bit
nvidia changelog for 367.35: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverRes...5343/en-us

I didn't see anything related to HEVC 10bit but you never know.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

really?
Quote:Added support for VDPAU Feature Set H to the NVIDIA VDPAU driver. GPUs with VDPAU Feature Set H are capable of hardware-accelerated decoding of 8192x8192 (8k) H.265/HEVC video streams.

Maybe users of more regular content will see a benefit then, although Phoronix suggests the above change will only benefit "Pascal" (GTX 1000) cards.

Anyway, how is your pixellation issue?

yes pascal also support 12bit in HEVC from Feature Set G

Quote:Feature Set G
Introduced dedicated hardware video decoding of HEVC Main 12 (12-bit), and VP9 hardware decoding up to 4096 × 2304 pixels resolution.

Feature Set H are capable of hardware-accelerated decoding of 8192x8192 (8k resolution) H.265/HEVC video streams.[34]

Im just consider buy some cheap GTX like 950 with 10bit HEVC or wait for some low coast pascal
for now im on Cherry trail with 8 bit HEVC

In that case #0708 should be good again, as that reverts the change added in #0707 (assuming the problem starts with #0707, and is due to PR10075, which would now seem unlikely if you continue to have this problem in #0708).

What you also have is a new kernel in #0704, so trying #0704, #0705 and #0706 in turn until you reproduce the problem will help focus attention on the first build that has this lag/stutter problem.

Once we know the first build when the lag/stutter starts it should be possible to start making more educated guesses. A debug log from the latest build #0708 may also help shed some light on what is causing the lag/stutter.

@Milhouse I experienced the issue again today during Live TV watching and I was able to capture a debug log. What I saw was video lag/stutter to the point it stopped and then kodi restarted hence why the log stops abruptly.

@hi Milhouse
On my friend TV 4k we testing intel braswell based on CPU J3160
Is no problem to play 4k movies HEVC 8bit when resolution is setup 1080p - then 4k movies work with downscaling - no problem

But we was unable to play any movie 4k when with setuped example 1440p or 2160k res. Sad
(we used samples from kodi - wiki )

Tomorro i will send you logs.

hi milhouse,

i upgraded from #0605 to #0716

Thanks for the crashlog, definitely PVR related. If nobody replies soon with a solution one thing to help pin down the bug would be to go back through the builds until your find the first crashing ie. non-working build, then it will be easier to identify what PVR related change is causing the crash.

There is a PVR recording related change in #0711 so try build #0710 then continue working backwards (to build #0709 etc.) if it crashes, or forwards (to build #0711 etc.) if it doesn't crash.

@millhouse

Has this PR been recently included in LE by any chance?

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/10106

Only I'm getting problems with sliderex controls in my skin and Confluence.

@Hitcher PR10106 is not currently in these builds but I can include it tomorrow starting with #0718 (assuming it doesn't break the build etc.)

@Hitcher - PR10106 (or a version of it) has been included in these builds since #0713 as it is in AchimTuran's AudioDSP/V2/usability_core_fixes branch.

If it's not working then perhaps the version on the branch is stale. Ping @AchimTuran.

Should have explained better - sliderex controls are messed up for some reason and I thought that PR might have been the cause as it's only happening in LE and not the Windows nightlies. So if it's not included another PR must be to blame.

I'll try and narrow down which build introduced it later.
