v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)
(2016-07-30, 17:38)Guilouz Wrote: What's happen with last build ? Since update #726 to #729 button 'OK' and 'Back' not working with my remote.

I have this remote : https://www.amazon.com/Ortek-Windows-Inf...ter+Remote

I think they are aware of it... might need to extract a build and drop it in your update folder and power cycle your device to revert back if you cannot use any form of input device

I have the same problem here but as i use yatse i can do without the select button for now... but might need to do the above to force a new update ;-) when its released
#0729 includes a merge that breaks a lot of remote controls - it's been reverted so tonight's #0730 build should be good. There's also a fix for auto-repeat in tonight's build, so should be good (as long as nothing bad is merged between now and the build...)
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Quick question... any idea if usb keyboards are working still? might save a few users a bit of a headache Smile
I'm not aware of any specific problems with keyboards. Keyboards weren't broken by the merge in #0729 (though they did receive some new longpress mappings which haven't been reverted) and a USB keyboard connected to a NUC is working fine with a test build from earlier today.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

I had hoped this would fix the IR-power on issue as well. Unfortunately it doesn't.

And yes keyboard working fine !

You said your restart problem started with #0420, and provided this crashlog:

Rolling back to 419 solves it, so this broke with some build in between.

Edit: Build #0420 is the last one that worked, it's still broken in #0509

@Milhouse:
Just to be sure I created a log with the latest (0510): http://sprunge.us/ABZb
and noticed on shutdown a crashlog was created: http://sprunge.us/JRBe

So something is causing the system to crash at shutdown ...

There's nothing obvious in build #0420 that would appear to be responsible for changing the restart behaviour (no new kernel, no new drivers etc.). The crash in your crashlog appears to be related to libnfs, but libnfs didn't change in #0420 so I'm not sure why it would start to become an issue (there is a change in #0420 that cleans up some file handling code but it looks fairly benign).

Are you sure this restart problem began with #0420, and that it wasn't just a random/unrelated crash that made you think it starts with #0420, when in fact it's a later build that has the real problem?

Liking #0730 a lot! Seems a lot of my little Live TV glitches have settled... many thanks Milhouse & Co.

Apologies if you've told me this already, but when did the PS3 BT remote last work properly (ie. which build)?

PS3 BT remote working fine here on #0730, HSW Chromebox
@Milhouse
Here's my Debug Log from the current build. The VPN manager acts as if it connects to the New York server, but actually does not. It works fine on the Alpha build (7.90.003).

Hope that helps.
Milhouse Would it be possible to add support for Silicone image 680 PATA IDE controller to LibreElec? See here: http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/dri...680.c#L421

I have been trying to figure it out myself and I am completly unable to compile the kernal to add the support. I am just to damn new to linux to figure out the errors I keep getting.

I hope you can help me, your pretty much my only hope now..

If you were able to identify the last working build that would help towards a solution.

Although to be honest a quick look at your logs (dmesg/journalctl) shows OpenVPN is likely to be the least of your problems as it appears you're suffering from a serious hardware problem with your /dev/sda hard disk - it might be on it's last legs:

If you're having problems, look in the OpenVPN log: /run/openvpn.log

Though to be honest I'm not an OpenVPN expert, and given your hardware problems I'd suggest fixing that first. Then, if the VPN problem continues, determine the last working Milhouse test build. Comparing these test builds with 7.90.003 doesn't really tell me much, other than OpenVPN worked in a build with a Kodi version from 4 weeks ago, a totally different kernel and a whole bunch of packages that haven't been bumped in the last few weeks, so if you can tell me which of my builds is the last working version that would help a lot.

Alright, when I get more time to test different builds I'll send the logs. The VPN manager does go through the motions and says it is connected to NY, but that IP is my actual IP, not the one it should show from NY. The OpenVPN log says "ERROR: Linux route add command failed: external program exited with error status: 2" four times before completing the sequence, but I have no idea what that even really means and the developer seemed to not have much insight either.

Thanks for pointing out the hard drive errors too. It's the OS drive and I had a feeling that it wasn't healthy.
