JoshDi thanks so much for trying. I don't know if your efforts will prove successful but knowing that somebody is at least trying to pick up the torch gives us some hope.

Thank you!
Havent had much luck merging the branches but still trying

Any news about this?

I've actually started to look for alternatives now. Sad

I can't agree with you because with MPC and LAV my RX 460 can handle h.264 and h.265 fine @ 4k in hardware, see few posts above.

I find that hard if not impossible to belive, this is a well documented problem, I think you'll find your CPU is doing all the work for H264 and you probably have one of the driver versions installed that works with H265, my H265 was working initially but H264 has never worked.

The latest drive seems to break both.

If you insist your's is working by all means provide proof as if this is the case people must have faulty cards.

ok, so it turns out that in some cases the RX can hardware decode H264, I was wrong, it seems to have no issues with basline profiles encoded movies at any bitrate but struggles with high profile 4.1 encloded movies at bit rates 30mb/sec or higher. My 5 year old piece of crap 7650 can do this no problem.

Mpc be and madvr with lav work fine. It's just finding a remote that Is a pain.

that depends on what GFX card you are using and how you movies were encoded, see my previous post....

If you are looking for a cheap HTPC remote this one is stupid good as it has keybaord functionality on both sides and 5 IR programable keys so you can control volume on your amp through HDMI-CEC, power, hell I even have my LED lights setup on it.

This tiny little remote does everything. I also also mapped the windows volume and mute keys to other tasks, i'm using every button on it, its great for just sitting in front of your HTPC browsing the internet or controlling KODI or MPC.

Tip - create a batch file to kill MPC.exe and map this to a key, otherwise you have to click exit on MPC every time you stop movie. PM me for more advice.

Harmony remotes work well in controlling Kodi and MPC.

I hit stop and it goes back to kodi without issue. Need a remote that controls kodi and Mpc. That's the main issue. Otherwise media center remote is option but I haven't tried. This would be great if there was developer

You talking with or receiver? I'd ideally like wifi but anymote has kodi as do others but most don't have mpchc. Remoteextender makes kodi remote work for mpchc but I can't get it working.

Yatse for Android is supposed to handle Kodi and MPC-HC

Yatse works quite well. Unfortunately it doesn't integrate into other remotes. Been using it for years

If you want an all in one remote, iRule for iOS is a great app. But it needs quite some work to set it up.

I looked at Irule, it seems much more complicated than anymote or the harmony hub.

I guess it is. Actually irule starts as blank, and you have to build from scratch your remote control screens and buttons, macros, etc.
It's complicated but very effective and customizable. Once it's operational, nothing can't beat it Smile

the problem I find with all controller apps is you cant just pick it up and use it, you have to unlock your phone, open the app, wait for it to connect, then use it, a standard remote it far better as you never need to look at it, after a while you remember where the buttons are by touch. The remote I posted is defo the best of both words, PC / MOUSE and IR controller, all for £15.

I do also use an app for me Denon receiver but only when I want to dig deeper into the settings.
