The <cache> settings have nothing to do with the texture cache. If the graphics disappearing is a new behaviour then which build did it start with?

How are you determining if hardware acceleration is working or not?

I get tearing on the screen when scrolling, and tearing playing videos on youtube.I've just tested build #1010 and Chromium with intel hardware acceleration, and don't see any tearing on a Skylake NUC6i5SYH (I visited the LE home page, scrolled up and down several times, visited news.bbc.co.uk and scrolled various pages and viewed a few videos again without any tearing). Chromium was the only add-on installed in what is otherwise a "clean" kodi installation - can you try testing without any other addons?
Turning acceleration off on builds below #930 gives me the same "tearing" Turning acceleration on with builds below #930 works as expected "no tearing"
