v17 Audio offset increment - can it be adjusted.
#1
Simple question. Is it possible to adjust the audio offset increment in the gui which defaults to 0.025 increments? I would like to lower this value to 0.005 to give more granularity over the adjustment.
Is there an XML setting in guisettings or elsewhere which can set this value or is it hard-coded ?

thanks.

the 0.025 is hardcoded, there is only a setting for adjusting the range. https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...s.cpp#L344

i do note that 0.005 increments is senseless, that's way below the precision you can guarantee sync at anyways.

As posted on LE forum

"ITU performed strictly controlled tests with expert viewers and found that the threshold for detectability is -125ms to +45ms."

I really don't believe you can detect offsets smaller than 25ms.

raw vs interpolation on android.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I've had this problem for awhile and thought it might have been resolved since I last 'googled' it. It has now been quite awhile since and still nothing has changed in the reiteration of kodi. If you can say for sure it's not a XML variable then where is the reference of thehard code file?

You can .... tell the difference between 1-3ms and is the reason why BenQ and other leading brands sell gaming monitors. Differences with high refresh rates and lower response times makes a difference. I can definitely tell when a movie audio is offset and most of the time 25ms is too much in terms of adjustment.

I'd like to see the Kodi team implement 5ms adjustments
