Thanks doldi and fightnight for the tips to get KODI back up again.
I deleted the inputstream.mpd, and it froze at further place on startup, as shown by the on screen log.
Then I deleted the inputstream.smoothstream and the boot completed!
Didn't have to nuke the database (yet?)

Hi Milhouse
PR11054 didnt fix the live tv osd issues, and ive also notice channel manager does work anymore, nothing happens when selected.
Is there anything I can do to help find the issues.
Kind Regards

Hi All
During the last builds that I installed in the raspberry Pi3, I always end in a loop of the device after the installation: the Kodi logo is shown again and again
Can you please help? this happened with the last night build and also with the last previous that I installed from 26 Nov.
I already tried to copy manually some files to the SD card as described below but it does not solve the issue
thanks
Open the tar file and extract the KERNEL and SYSTEM files from the "target" folder. Copy these two files to your FAT partition, renaming KERNEL to kernel.img. Then try booting again. Sounds like your SD card glitched during the first boot.
If you need to copy the bootloader files too, then you'll find these in the 3rdparty/bootloader folder of the tar file - copy the *.dtb, fixup.dat, bootcode.bin and start.elf files to the FAT partition.
