You don't have to type. You can navigate to your ext sd card. Regarding ZDMC backups, I tried to use 'Backup' addon and it started giving me errors after the first use. So I gave up and bought ES Explorer for 3€. It makes life so much easier and I can achieve network communication between my devices a lot easier.

About the latest firmwares, great improvement in everything. There are still a few issues but we are getting there. For me, the most important is the crash when I try to access my NAS using NFS.

Also, regarding the new font, it is good but needs thicker outline. At the moment it is tiny and the eye gets tired when viewing subs in light background colors. The Zidoo team should either let user adjust it (add 3 options for example), or make it a bit thicker by a default value.

I choose the wrong setting, i already make a backup but the files are on the wrong place. But now i get errors to. So the addon looks useless.

Which folders have to be backupped when you do a backup from ES File Explorer? I can do a manual backup, but it's important that i backup the good folders before i do a firmware update.

I don't have any troubles with NFS connection to my Synology nas.

Yes, i don't know why but the Backup add on gives me errors. With external SD card, I had no luck with anything. I managed to backup with the 'Backup' addon using USB stick, but for some reason, after I restarted ZDMC I get errors when I try to open the add on. It refuses to open basically.

With ES File Explorer, watch video. This is for kodi. In the android folder look for something like org.zidoo.zdmc. (I am at work now but don't remember the exact name but it is easy to find).

NFS access through media center causes a crash no matter what. However, I don't have any issues accessing my WDMYCloud using ZDMC and of course, NFS protocol. With Media Center I can access it only using Samba. I sent log file from the crash in Zidoo but nothing yet.

I have the same issue. I give ES File Explorer a try to make a backup before i do a firmware update.

Hi all , I have a problem here I can not stream any file above 1G , Especially with dolby digital 5.1
it is getting stuck at 0%

then after a few second of streaming the file I receive a massage telling me that " Cash is full "
I did clean the cash and tried again and nothing happened

How do I stream the 1080P file with Dopy dolby digital 5.1 on kodi without any problem ?

also I have tried to download the same file by using the computer and I got full speed !

I have 25m internet speed Sad

also I have tried kodi on my computer to see if it has the same problem but It worked very well !

so I think the problem in Android devices only Sad

It can 'fix the problem of the recordings over 3.65 gb? is a software problem or is it just the hardware?
It is like a dvd recoder that extinguishes him while it is being recorded.
it would be useful to insert a protection during the hdmi in recording because it extinguishes him with too it facilitates' from the television.

Me neither, especially compared to Kodi. Maybe they will do some things better with firmware and functionality? Kind of doubt it, but who knows.

I have the X8 and am still missing one function that I need to integrate this unit in my Home Cinema setup.
I want to control the unit (Zidoo Internal Player) via the Network (preferable with HTTP get/put/json calls).
Now this is no issue for KODI but as you know I can't interact with the Zidoo Internal Player and must revert to a dump IR remote.

IMHO the Unit should never receive a higher score than a A- without a working solution to control the media player via the Network interface.
All premium media players like VTEN, KODI, DUNE, Zappitti support this.

Is there any Android app that can do this, or does anybody know where to find information about the Android Zidoo RC APK. I don't own an Android phone but I am hoping to find the API information on how to talk with this APK so I can use it via a http/json call.

You can check out Zappiti website the list of changes of their new firmware. Their problems are pretty much the same as Zidoo.

Somehow thought that would be the case... Realtek SoC's have been mostly turnkey solutions to date. But, still some room for manufacturers to optimize f/w's.

I don't think they have one. I only have facebook's link for Zappiti Thai forum. I suppose someone would be able to answer your questions in English.

I am on V1.2.11 and generally quite happy. Yesterday I did, however, notice an audio dropout while playing a flac music album. Will test again tonight.
Will ZDMC be updated to 17 once Kodi 17 has been released?
