I have an issue with some 4k/HEVC files. Most files are playing fine but with some i have distortions in the picture. I'm trying to play the test file http://jell.yfish.us/media/jellyfish-400...-10bit.mkv
With Kodi 17 videoplayer (hw accelerated with GTX 960) the video plays fine without distortions. The same with MPC-HC / LAV 0.69 (hw accelerated) / madVR 0.91.5 the video is fine too.

If i play the file with DSPlayer (LAV 0.69 / madVR 0.9.1.5 i get:

Can somebody test the file if you have the same distortions? It's not a very big deal because it's a test file and most of the 4k/HEVC are playing fine but with other players the test file plays fine too.

Sorry DTS-HD MA. My audio card is the ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim. The only way I have ever been able to bitstream audio where my receiver displays that it is receiving a true DTS-HD MA or TrueHD stream is using ffdshow + Arcsoft Renderer. If you know of some other way to make it work, I'm all ears!

Hello,
First of all I thank Aracnoz for keeping dsplayer.Il allowed a great advanced.
My configuration
windows 7 pro 64
intel i5 3570K
8Gb mémoire
HD 4000
plasma panasonic TXP-50VT30E
KODI Dsplayer 15 RC1

I am a user of kodi dsplayer for a long time.I'm still in kodi version 15 because kodi 16 and kodi 17 have a malfunction when using pixelshaders (shader id="17" or shader id="5") in mediaconfig with EVR.
Playback starts but does not switch to full screen, sound normally plays. The debug log shows no problems

If other users can do the test to be sure. Thanks.

ARACNOZ > If you could see why.

Thank you for reading me, and excusing my English, I am French.

Have you tried Sanear audio renderer or Reclock? Maybe you have, just asking because I don't see why you shouldn't be able to bitstream, unless the card is not complying with standards for its drivers... I'm suspicious of the bundled ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre, maybe it installs proprietary software that messes up things with "regular" software.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

It sure is, with either Reclock or Sanear Audio Renderer.

Thanks aracnoz. I have this filter configuration working fine in MPC-HC as an external player without any lock ups. I also verified this morning that I could play multiple files in MPC-HC with no restart of MPC-HC required. I prefer DSPlayer with MadVR without having to start an external player, but I also prefer to have HDMA and TrueHD bitstreaming, so I will continue to troubleshoot and see if I can find any configuration that works with my hardware.

Doug

it's different because kodi is expected to resume his own audioengine

Thank you @aracnoz again. Awesome.

@aracnoz Maybe you could look if the test file http://jell.yfish.us/media/jellyfish-400...-10bit.mkv plays without distortion on your system?

Maybe this source lacks proper HDR metadata for madVR to read. This has been the case with other sources; particularly, 4K demo videos.
