Play HEVC files with Kodi 18 on a Intel NUC (Celeron N2820) ?

Hello everyone,

first of all sorry for my english.

Here is my problem. A few months ago, I have installed LibreElec 7 with Kodi 16 on a Intel NUC, CPU : Celeron N2820.

When I try to play a HEVC file, during the action/acceleration scenes, there is a lag (a video lag, not audio). I presume my system is not fit to read HEVC.

So I was wondering if uprading to LibreElec 8 and Kodi 17 would change anything.

Or the problem is the CPU ? I read that some CPU are not powerful enough to play HEVC files, no matter which media player is installed.

Thanks for your help !

you CPU is the problem. No Hardware decoding for hevc and too slow for software decoding.

Rapid and clear. Thank you !

And without speaking of this HEVC problem, would you advise me to update to Kodi 18 ?

Is it worth it in general ?

And I read that some NUC users had issues with this update.
