Ordered the X9s, am really looking forward to seeing and hearing if it makes a difference to my Pi3.
The 2 points - metadata in HD audio. Will it make a difference on a 5.1 system?

3D is PQ better? More depth, sharper image etc.

Speed of menus etc have never been an issue for me, perfectly happy with my Pi.

Guess now it is wait and see.

For 3D PQ Depth and Pop Out I will recommend @afedchin and Windows Kodi Build.
For 4k HDR playback, i will recommend Zidoo

Having just one person taking care of development for 3D Windows Kodi, does not ssem like a safe option for me.

That is why I will give the Zidoo a try. 3D PQ should be better than Pi from what I have read - hope it is true.

I am otherwise very happy with the Pi - but better Pop Out etc (if possible) than the Pi would be great. Hope it will happen.

Yet I often have the feeling that 3D in my projector / Pi setup is better than in the cinema I watch most movies, very often not impressed, then rewatch at home - and wow.

Has been brought up before, but as @afedchin is the only Kodi developer who stepped up, it's what it is. Without him, we wouldn't have the Windows MVC build.

I can positively say that there is no clipping, color shifting or black crush in X9S YCbCr output. Can't say that about banding because color depth, content bitrate, display etc. have an influence on it. I haven't done any objective picture quality comparison to SigmaDesign SoCs. Based on other user reports X9S seems to be on par.

I don't have the new remote. So, can't comment on that one also.

Ok, I understand. I've asked this to Zidoo in order to find the new units with the enhanced remote. It's likely you already have read my thread, but the thing is that I have had no answer from any official person so far. In fact, it's not easy to get an answer (I have posts on Zidoo forum without any reply). This is disappointing. I'm not a customer yet, but it's very likely I will be another one soon. So it looks like the forum support is not as good as users help. Am I wrong?

The problem with the forum is that Zidoo seems to be ignoring complaints from members.
Members have made many requests which just go unanswered by Zidoo. It appears that if something is not possible with the present firmware rather than offer hope that it might be possible in a future update they just ignore it.
Minix is so much better in that regard. If I had known beforehand I would never have bought a X9S but gone with a Minix.

@dixons: Thanks for your information. Well, I don't buy a product for its after sales service only. The Minix U9-H is a good product,but is inferior to X9S/X10 in some aspects.

I want to give the X10 a try but want to ask some things first.

1) Does it switch between SDR and HDR colorspaces? Is the switching dynamic or do i have to change it every time i watch something in 4k HDR?
2) Is it working with 4k and 1080p content properly at 23.976hz?
3) Is the refresh rate switching dynamic?
4) Is the resolution switching dynamic?
5) Which player is used to play 4k HDR content?
6) Does it output YCbCr for SDR or just RGB 8-bit?
7) Are the colorspaces correct or does it have errors like the shield? I had the shield and if i selected anything else except RGB 8-bit for SDR content though kodi the colors were messed up and it was really apparent especially skin tones

I'm having trouble updating the ZDMC/KODI database with information from internet movies.
It worked just fine until yesterday. It stopped to retrieve the information from internet.
I think it started after I tried to edit the name of a movie title.

If I try to update information from a single movie, when I click to the refresh the movie information, it presents me with the dialog to change the name of the movie (like I selected the option to edit the movie title), and it never leave the dialog even I try to click to finish (I must kill the ZMDC/KODI).

I already removed and tried to add the library database, but it keeps failing to refresh from internet.

Anyone can help me here?

This isn't a hardware issue - I'd suggest you go over to the Kodi forums for general help. They'll want to look over your logs (in fact, if you look over them yourself you may figure out the problem.)
