I battled it at the beginning but eventually gave up in favour of Hifi Berry board in one set up and HDMI audio extractor in the other. I only use 3.5mm analogue out for bench testing. I don't hear any noise on my B+ even with headphones but I'm not using 3.5mm jack. You shouldn't get noise from HDMI.
today my rpi3 b+ arrived and i noticed some problem during audio output. Gui works well but on playing media with different audio codecs only some noices arrived.
Any special settings known ?
