I have the same issue, that the watched status doesn't work anymore.

Same problem here:

Two days ago, I switched from Kodi 17.6  for Android with Youtube addon 6.0.0 beta 8 unnofficial to CoreELEC 8.90.1 and Youtube addon 6.0.0 beta 10 (can't remember did I try unofficial or official first). Old config files for video addons (in userdata) are transferred to new setup. Skin is Aeon Nox.

Everything works fine, except watched status in Youtube. After that I also tried: official version (beta 10), old one unofficial (beta 8) and default skin Estuary, but result was the same...
New testbuild reusepython patch makes problem on this addon.

Add this on youtube 'addon.xml' file.
xml:
<extension point="xbmc.addon.metadata">
  <reuselanguageinvoker>false</reuselanguageinvoker>
</extension>
Hello, we are doing a class work on Kodi, we have to do a simple YouTube search. I have watched many tutorials but they are usually obsolete. I do not know if you could help me. I'm a newbie. Greetings and thank you

I just realized that CoreELEC is based on Kodi 18, and tried clean install with old version of youtube addon - same result. I think youtube addon is not compatible with Kodi 18.
On Github:
add refresh to My Subscriptions (Filtered)

Wait for beta11 Smile Thanks for add this feature Smile
...only on your "little world" can you lay down the law...
Sorry to still bother with the issue but I still cannot get certain videos to play at all. Somehow I have the feeling its some kind of stupid age verification block or something in germany because it is always videos related to gaming and some kind of violence.. On Android App they play flawlessly though.. Gah...cannot find the cause. Sad

Anyway, heres the log for two videos:

http://paste.kodi.tv/enazelayuv

Being a total newb i can only read something about unicode ascii encoding error or so maybe?

The videos were

@ezbe plugin://plugin.video.youtube/play/?playlist_id=PLpc9QDUSa7bge6pcikc_FLYpH4s215ndb&order=shuffle&play=1

@Fludizz Thanks for looking into that further.

@datafreak2k and @letac I haven't found the cause for resume points/mark as watched in 18, will be looking to resolve this in the next version.

@guass19 Can you clarify and provide more details to what you require?

@DjDiabolik v6 link is below.

@Arokhaerr Can you try v6, should hopefully show the real issue now.

v6.0.1 zip is available: https://github.com/jdf76/plugin.video.yo.../tag/6.0.1

@anxdpanic: Is this still with the caveat that some streams (HLS?) still won't play even with mpeg-dash enabled?

Eg: For me the following France24 Live news stream still stops after a few seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J78SdCzzumA

@anxdpanic

I'm just wondering if there is still a problem with some live streams or if something is wrong with my setup?

The above mentioned France24 Live news stream still doesn't play for me. Does it work for you?

THANKS! Smile

Here's the log with v6.
http://paste.kodi.tv/wehamaxoxi
@jmh2002 It doesn't work in Kodi 17, but with Kodi 18 & InputStream Adaptive 2.2.16 it seems to be working good.

@Arokhaerr can you try: https://github.com/jdf76/plugin.video.yo.../6.0.1-dev The notification should hopefully work now and shed some light on the underlying issue.

Heres the log:
http://paste.kodi.tv/fasilubibu

In german it says something about that the content might be inapp....and there the notification bubble text gets cut off.

Oh and another thing: I read somewhere that youtube uses age from google+. I have set google my birthday to 1981 so im definately an adult and on web and android app everythingbis fine, but in kodi it always lets me know its inappopirate (sp?) content, lol..
@Arokhaerr That confirms it's an inappropriate content gate of some sort(there are already ~4 different ones accounted for), it may be a gate similar to offensive content which is currently not view-able yet. I'm not able to directly reproduce atm but I've opened an issue on GitHub so I don't forget and maybe get some help with it. https://github.com/jdf76/plugin.video.yo...issues/347

I've updated the zip with the notification bugfix https://github.com/jdf76/plugin.video.yo.../tag/6.0.1

@Arokhaerr greystashh reported those videos working. To check your age/birthday;
  1. Sign into your Google account privacy page on a computer.
  2. Under the "Personal info & privacy" section on the side menu, click Your personal info.
  3. Click Birthday.
  4. Click the pencil next to your birthdate to edit.
  5. Verify your birthday and update if necessary.
  6. Click Update.
You may have to sign out and sign back in after that.

On that exact page my birthday is set to 1981.
I have changed it to 1980 and then back to 1981 maybe that kicked in some internal script for my account to enable such videos..

Another thing is that I have my google account linked to 2! Youtube accounts. One which is from the time BEFORE Youtube was bought by google a decade ago... And THAT is also the account used by me for years. Maybe that is the problem and nothing can be done about it.. ill create a new test account and see if that fixes it...

I really have the feeling that some kind of bugged google/youtube account might be the issue in the end...

[EDIT]
OH MY HOLY FGIN £¢¥•¢$={{¢•#%-"=€-;!!!!
I just finished transfering all subscriptions to the other youtube account so I have the same subscription lists.... And guess what? IT WORKS!

My guess was right that my decade old Youtube "profile" linked to my google account (its called a brand channel now if that helps) was borked and bugged... Now with the other profile everything works!

So it probably wasnt anything related to the kodi youtube plugin at all.. At least it seems so.

Thank you for your help though. For future reference we now know that there is some weird issue when it comes to youtube accounts linked to google accounts afterwards. Smile

Still kinda disappointing though that you cannot watch certain content with your so called "Brand channel".. Sad

Ok thanks, that solves it, because I'm still on Kodi 17.
