I am a silent participant in this forum but now I have decided to report an issue which has come to my system.

Till 2 weeks ago I used an intel nuc with the libreelec fork of the 17.6 Krypton Kodi with your amazing skin. And I was totally happy about it. But than I had to update to the Leia Beta because I want to watch DAZN over Kodi which only works with Kodi 18.
My problem is, that your skin isn't fully loaded I guess. Everytime i start my htpc an log in as master user (i have 2 profiles - master user and kids) the skin appears to be loaded but there are missing text entries (just blank)



I have to log out and reenter again. The second login takes more time (about 10-13 seconds) than the first login, which takes just a second. In both cases the skin needs the same time to load the widgets and menu. But every second login the problem is gone.



Because of that i formatted the harddrive, reinstalled libreelec and only your repository with your skin and the problem reappears.

So my question is: Is that a known skin issue or is it a kodi/libreelec issue? Since every other skin I have tested (estuary/horizonV/aeon nox) was ok, I came here to ask for advice.

I know you're not in a position to easily test Live TV, but wondering if there's something you could help with (simpler option) and/or implement (more complex option).
I'd really like to have easy access to the different TV groups. Currently I have to launch this window.
so the simple option would be if you know the command I can use to launch this window.

The more complicated option would be to allow easy access to the categories as in the Estuary skin (see below). If you could do this it would be marvellous!

Please test latest from Git. I gave it a go adding the same fixedlist above the EPG that Estuary uses.

Also check the settings page for addons for a fix for the uppercase issue

I'd like to use TV Show - Next Aired as a widget on the main menu for item TV Shows but nothing appears. Other widgets appear in different categories just fine. During installation, it said Artwork Downloader was needed. I use Artwork Beef and am afraid the two scrapers would conflict and mess up my artwork. Anyone else have success or is this a known problem?

I have auto update selected for this skin. I see 6.1.5 is available but the list of updates only goes as high as 6.1.4. I've never seen it auto update. I have the repo installed, 1.0.5. So I manually d/l 6.1.5 and choose install from zip. The install pops up 'failed'. This has happened in the past too. So I select to reinstall 6.1.4 because the skin is no longer installed and it too fails. I navigate to the userdata folder and unzip 6.1.5 after deleting the old one and all is fine. It appears it doesn't work proper because the name of the two skin versions are the same, and the new one doesn't overwrite the old one or something. This can't be normal and it's probably on my end although v.18 and this skin are fresh installs recently. Just curious if this happens to others?

'Status' is defaulted to 'Disabled' when viewing Movie Sets with the MyFlix and the Shift views. It doesn't seem to Enable? Again, is this true for anyone else?

Aside from these couple minor blips, using KODI with this skin is becoming very appealing. Fwiw to others, I've installed, adjusted and tested MANY other skins that are not in the KODI repo. This is the only one that works properly with KODI v.18 for my obscure demands (as well as all that are in the repo). Of those that work proper, this is by far the best for customization imo. Thank you to Mike Silvo for continuing to maintain and offer it to us creating a pleasurable experience for home theatre use.

The TV Show Next Aired Widget hasn't worked for awhile. I forgot to remove it
There should be no requirement to install Artwork Downloader. The Download "artwork" button in the settings for TV Show Next Aired says it is required but it is not and you shouldn't use it.
You can try Episodes > Next Airing Episodes as a Widget instead.

Updates should work but you can check the log file for errors to find out why it did not update correctly.

Status indicators for Shift and MyFlix when viewing Sets should be fixed on Git.

It does rely on an addon and therefore will take time to populate. Just, please, do not be a "dingleberry" and have that Widget be hidden until focused and say you do not see it when your not focused cause that'd be silly .

I see that you mentioned that some "random" skin worked the way you wanted but you have not informed me of that skin so I cannot check to see what they may be doing differently. I only test this skin using stock (unaltered) Kodi.

FWIW I will "tackle" anything I can but, sorry, just mentioning that this WORKS for your "setup" is not very helpful

If you can, please, post a debug log (wiki) so I can do my best to take a peek and add anything helpful

I do not know how to open the groups selection dialog outside of the Live TV Guide. My guess in that dialog is to map an onclick to id="28" (SendClick(28)) but if you are not in the guide XML then I really have no idea if that will work or not. In other words! UNTESTED!!

Sorry but you have misunderstood me. No addons are needed. I was just letting you know that I saw your post before it was deleted and that I updated the addon information dialogs to remove Uppercase for edit types and to center the separation labels. You do not need to do anything but check if all your addon settings pages are Okey Dokey

I'd like to narrow this down and fix it, if I can, but I cannot find a trustworthy source stating that this addon is legal or not.

Some sites say it is and others say it is not...

With that said, I have no idea if this is a common occurrence. If possible please consult with a dev for either Kodi or LibreELEC and let me know of any information that could correct any skin coding issues. I am uncertain if what I have in my startup could possibly cause this. Any assistance with this matter is appreciated

FYI. I have added RetroPlayer support according to the recent thread posted by @garbear in the skinning forum.

It needs testing.

You need Artwork Beef to add the images to Kodi. The old way worked most of the time but not for artists like AC/DC and other examples with invalid characters in their names. The default is to use local art so if you have setup Artwork Beef correctly it will add all the images you enabled for all artists regardless of compatibility issues.

If you are having issues with Artwork Beef then I suggest you read the Wiki for it and ask in the thread for that add-on.

Auto fullscreen for PartyMode should be working again using latest skin from Git.

 
Since beta 4 fixed some issues for my device, i gave Leia another try - this time, it works.
I also managed to get artwork to be functional.

Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned, the problem was still there after I formatted the hard drive and installed just libreelec and your repository and your skin, with all skin helpers and add-ons which are needed to give your skin the ideal performance and features.
The DAZN Addon isn't the problem. Maybe it isn't 100% legal, because they aren't supporting kodi directly. I will research about it and maybe I will invest some money for a nvidia shield, where I can use the standard android app for DAZN and other "semi legal" add-ons for kodi.

The main problem is the startup of your skin at the first login. If it is more helpful, I will do another format and install a clean libreelec with only your skin and repository and post another log file. Since your skin works perfectly on kodi 17.6 (libreelec 8.2.5), I never would have thougt off any problem like this. Maybe some adjustment or add-on support issues with the new Kodi Leia but nothing like this.

Have you ever heard about a probleme like mine before? Not completely loading at first login, but fully working at second login?

'Hide widgets when not focused' is NOT enabled and I waited ample time for something to appear.  I moved the mouse around just in case that might make a difference.  Nothing happens for me but I'm glad to hear it works for you so maybe it can work for me too.  Fwiw, I have dummy folders for some of my TV shows.  They are scanned in and display metadata.  I just want to use this add-on to remind me if something is on TV tonight but I don't have all actual files of all TV shows in my collection.  But then I don't have any actual files OR folders for widgets like 'TV Shows Airing Today' and this widget appears and works fine.  One thing I did notice, widgets relying on 'Skin Helper' don't seem to work.  Those using 'TVDB' do.  I see these icons next to the various widgets that can be selected.  This leads me to believe the Skin Helper add-on is at fault but I'm ignorant and seek your opinion.

I am not nor ever have used any altered KODI.  I only use official versions. 

I used TITAN skin for years with 17.6.  Others too.  When I used external players, the watched status was always updated without fail.  This is important to me.  Now that I am using v.18, TITAN no longer fulfills my requirements.  Your skin does and I'm migrating to it happily.  I just notice a few quirks and I'm reporting them to you.  Thank you for your willingness to digest my KODI and my SKIN debugs.  I should note that not only does your skin fail to update the watched status when using an external player(s), so does Estuary.  Once again, I am too ignorant to understand if this is related to skins and/or KODI core now that v.18 is in play and seek your opinion.

The progress with height 24 is, or rather should be, in the same place that Estuary has it.
I cannot really test this so can you please post a before and after pic showing the changes?
It would be helpful in knowing what, exactly, is the difference between the two.

As for the PlayerTimeRemainingAltVar I do not really want to change that at the moment but if I remember to look it over then I can consider updating it. Thanks for the recommendation

I can hide the channel groups in the sidmenu after some more folks have had some time to use it and there are not any reported issues. If that is the case I will remove it before Leia final.

As for your LOG errors...

I do not have any of those VAR's in my skin. I am not sure what is going on with your setup but it is not from my unaltered skin from either the download link in first post, my repository, or on GitHub...

hey i want to start by sayin this is my top 3 skin in kodi and i love this skin but i have a question is there away i could mod the skin for the favorites not to be the list view and icon view instead? because i got really bad eyes and it hurts my eyes using the favorites

Short answer... YES!! You can MOD almost anything if you have the time to do so!

Long answer... You would need to peruse the Skinning Manual (wiki) and learn how to mod it yourself until I have the time or desire to change that

What version of Skin Helper Widgets do you have? You should have v1.0.38:

You should also have Marcelveldt's BETA repo installed so you get all the latest dependencies for any of his addons and please NEVER install it manually due to complications with varying dependencies and having their latest versions installed correclty.


I'm not really sure what you are saying here Do you have any TV Shows in your Kodi library? The TV Shows Airing Today widget IIRC is pulling info for all shows according to The Movie DB. The other Widgets use your library or at least they should. If you have the show in your library but with zero episodes then IDK how that works but I assume even empty shows would populate correctly. Yes the icon denotes the provider of the Widget data.

When I said stock unaltered Kodi I meant that I do not use any External Players, a MySQL DB, or any other advanced changes which I consider to alter Kodi core behavior in some way or another.

If in 17.6 Watched Status worked but it no longer does in any skin especially Estuary then that seems like a Kodi bug to me.

I noticed you mentioning being ignorant twice and I hope that is not due to my response to your questions. I re-read it again and I do not think I was but can understand if it appeared a smidge snooty or something. I usually am doing all of this at the end of my day and sometimes typing is just too much effort so I try to be brief and to the point

Unfortunately if you have any banned addons (wiki) installed on your system including ones not specifically mentioned that provide anything for free which is normally paid for is not eligible for support on these forums. This is regardless of anything else that may be a factor.

I have used Profiles during testing of skin changes but I myself have not noticed this issue.

For the reason I just mentioned that is why I asked you to provide a debug log (wiki) and ask a dev for assistance. If you use LibreELEC, CoreELEC, SPMC, or whatever then please try posting in their respective forums for any further info that could help me fix this if it is not an issue with just your system.

Auto fullscreen music playback is basically a hack so it may continue to break from time to time during Alphas/Betas/RC's. With that said the latest from Git should be working until it breaks again...

The Warnings in my Log are coming from SkinShortcuts. I added a shortcut in the submenu to update the library.

On the shift view for seasons, i get the same season poster for all the seasons. Is someone else experiencing this?

Was also wondering how to make the info bar that popups from time to time more transparent. Maybe someone knows where to change the xmls

Yes i noticed the same on some more views ie wall vieuw, right list and some more.
These are not season posters but they just the posters.

The season posters are there and if i want to change thrm it won’t change to season poster.

@mikeSiLVO is there something changed or is this a kodi issue?
