Ok, so I now have Silvo 6.1.8 running, however the main menu is still not functional. Could there be an issue between my v18.0 Leia and your v18.2-RC1? Skinshortcuts pops out in the log. Could it be part of the problem?

@tcerka You have very old version of Skin Shortcuts installed.

Can you install Kodi on your phone?

If so you can install from zip in Kodi on your phone so you get the latest versions of the skin dependencies and just transfer the add on folders to your device. Does your phone offer hotspot capability? If you can connect your Kodi box to the internet through your phone and update any installed add ons from the Kodi repo everything should work.

On mobile ATM so if none of my ideas work for you then, unless somebody else beats me to it, I can post zip files of the correct versions of skin shortcuts and it’s dependencies when I can.

v1.0.12 was the newest version of skinshortcutsI could find on GitHub, unfortunately it didn't help. Kodi won't fit on my phone so it looks like I might need to count on the kindness of strangers to get the correct version.

Your log is full of banned addons (wiki). You will need to remove them and post a clean log for any support here.

Ok here are the steps/logs/clips of the stutter happening.

Clip 1
  • Clean install of Kodi 18.1 on Nvida Sheild from the Google Play Store (Build: 18.1 Git:20190222-75dc3d5 Compiled: 2019--02-22)
  • Downloaded repository.aeon.nox.silvo-1.0.5.zip from GitHub and installed from zip
  • Installed Aeon Nox: SiLVO 6.1.8 from repository
  • Added all media and configured the skin
  • Started playing a video and pressing OK to bring up the controls during playback was smooth. See 1st video below.

Here is the Log after this step

Clip 2
  • Deleted skin.aeon.nox.silvo folder
  • Downloaded the master branch from GitHub and extracted. Renamed extracted folder to skin.aeon.nox.silvo and placed it in the addons folder to replace the one deleted in the previous step
  • Moved OSD position to top
  • Started playing a video and pressing OK to bring up the controls during playback resulted in an initial stutter. See 2nd video below.

Here is the Log after this step

3rd example in next post due to forum limitation
(2019-02-23, 18:27)VectorZ Wrote: Clip 3
  • Replaced VideoOSD.xml in 16x9 folder with the version you posted.
  • Rebooted
  • Started playing a video and pressing OK to bring up the controls during playback resulted in an initial stutter. See 4rd video below.

Wow. Really thorough information. Thanks for that Smile
Can you try replacing this file and let me know if the problem is solved.

If that is your only issue then perhaps I changed something and you only need to re-enable the setting again Huh

Ok. Hmmm. The problem is definitely in VideoOSD.xml. The only changes are an additional image control and a slide animation so we are gonna have to check both and see what the culprit is.

In VideoOSD.xml can you delete or comment out this whole image control ~line 22:
xml:

<control type="image">
<top>-195</top>
<width>100%</width>
<height>360</height>
<texture border="1,1,1,40">topbar.png</texture>
<visible>!VideoPlayer.Content(LiveTV) + Skin.HasSetting(VideoOSDOnTop) + !Window.IsVisible(fullscreeninfo)</visible>
</control>
Restart Kodi or use shutdown menu > reload skin and test for stutter.

If still stutter then please restore the previously deleted image control and delete the slide animation ~line 53:
xml:

<animation effect="slide" end="0,-948" condition="Skin.HasSetting(VideoOSDOnTop)">Conditional</animation>
Restart Kodi or use shutdown menu > reload skin and test for stutter.

If the stutter is gone please add the slide animation right after ~line 40
<top>983</top>
and before
<control type="grouplist" id="202">
So
xml:

<top>983</top>

This is gonna mess up live tv videoosd but this is just for testing Wink

still no luck im sorry to say.

I rebooted after each change below before testing for stutter again but it remained each time.

1. deleted control from VideoOSD.xml

2. when this didnt work i restored the control and then deleted the animation.

3. when this didnt work i restored VideoOSD.xml and DialogSeekBar.xml from the current master branch in GitHub and then repeated steps 1 and 2 but no luck with either of them Sad

if nobody else has reported this happening then dont spend any more of your time on it mike. im more than happy to reinstall and go back to stable 6.1.8 release from the repository.

Hi,

I'm trying to find where in the xml files, the difference in animation effects between Krypton and Leia can be found. Specifically, when opening and closing a view in Leia, the animation effects are much more pronounced than the same views in Krypton - e.g. in Landscape view for episodes, the way the screen is loaded in Leia is more "exaggerated" (the movement of the items when they are loaded in Leia is much greater than Krypton). I much prefer the Leia way of doing this.

I'm staying on Kodi Krypton for now - there are some issues still with Kodi Leia for me and was hoping someone could point me to these differences (even if it's just a specific skinning term/keyword that I should be looking for, and then I can search for this in the Leia xml files and change the Krypton xml accordingly).

TIA.

Now that I have Nox Silvo running I need to get it humming. Does the skin need artwork beef to cycle backgrounds. The only control I find in the skin is the seven second timming setting. It worked until I changed something. Artwork Beef has so many settings I not used to.

LOVE this! I didn't want to upgrade to Leia because my favorite skin wouldn't work. But this is a nice nice nice skin. 1 thing I noticed, if you add a music widget and select the cover option it's a bit smaller than the image of the album artwork. Which causes the image to poke out the top and bottom. The Clear Case option looks perfect though.

and I don't know if this has been brought up, but it would be cool if it had an option for a more plain next up on the Music OSD. Something like the one in Aeon Spin where it shows the next few tracks. I'm not complaining, and have no idea how much work this would be. But that's really the only thing I don't love about this skin. I have it disabled so no biggie, I'm sure a lot of people love it but imho a basic next up would be a nice addition. Perhaps I need to re-enable the built in one and roll with it for awhile though. Keep up the good work I definitely see myself sticking with this for my main skin.
