Fire TV Stick 4k LiveTV or interlaced recordings
#31
Well Amazon have finally fixed this with a firmware update.
However using Dream Player TV app, 1080 h264 interlaced content is now playing perfectly, using Kodi 18.2 RC playback while initially perfect, freezes after 5-10 seconds and a reboot is needed.

Ill post some logs when I get home later.

Try forcing a software update. Working fine in kodi for me. Forcing an update download “system components” which I’m guessing is GPU firmware update.

Working fine for me all evening.

Yes TVheadend. In Ireland so a mixture of soarview (DVB-T) and FTA UK satellite channels. And a DVB-T based HDMI modulator for subscription channels.
So pretty much all interlaced content which meant my newest 4K stick was in a drawer till I saw this update and I had kept using the pendant but working fine now. It had been unplugged so long that when I turned it on it was like setting up from new (and then I forced the updates) so that may be a factor.

Plays 4K, interlaced tv and pretty much anything I throw at it now. So not sure if there’s a better value kodi device now given you still have an the main system and associated apps paired with kodi (dedicated Netflix app etc.)

Im happy to hear yours is working mate , it means the problem has been fixed.
Just need to work out why the hell mine keeps freezing lol.

As I said working fine using the Dream Player TV Client, its probably something stupid my end, although im scratching my head atm.
Even did a factory reset on the stick, just installed Kodi, didn't adjust any settings at all, and still the same problem.

Only thing that might be different is I’m using an Ethernet adaptor not WiFi. I use wired connections wherever possible for media.

Which version is the one needed? 6.2.6.3?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I’m on version 6.2.6.4 (NS6264/1996)

If you’ve any variation of that you may be wasting effort.

It seems that not everyone is getting Version NS6264/1996, a lot, including myself are getting NS6264/1995.
This could explain why mine still isn't working properly, yet others are.

Edit: @Nelbert you lucky swine !!
