In my experience i find Information better as it provides more info like show/movie ratings for Meta, TMDB, IMDB, Tomato etc along with other details like Crew, By Director, Recommendations, Similar, Trailers, Posters etc but it never loads the cast images (unless using the 'i' in the OSD during playback which brings up Information and loads cast images just fine).
on the other hand Openinfo always loads the cast images but also doesn't provide much details only Crew, Similar, Trailers and i think also
Posters.
I'd like to know if there is a way to get the cast images loading in Information from the context menu on a widget? which i think is the preferred solution as i feel there is a lot more missing from Openinfo (unless it's setup wrong for me) and would actually like to not have it show in the context menu since Information is better?
OpenInfo is an unofficial, unsupported fork of ExtendedInfo Script. This skin has recently changed away from EIS, in favor of jurialmunkey's own TMDb helper addon, and it is working much better at this point.
Cast and crew images are either scraped by the library scraper if your choice, or supplied by an add-on. If they're not showing, they're not available.
Context menu>Information is now pulling show/movie details from TMDB helper addon instead of EIS? Is that understanding right?
I’ve never had a problem with crew images, only cast and only with context menu>information.
Information via the ‘i’ in the osd loads cast images no problem.
If the cast images were unavailable then wouldn’t information via the ‘i’ in osd also not load any images?
With regards to AZ2, yes, it's safe to disable (or uninstall) OpenInfo, if you're not using it for anything else. All of AZ2's information dialogs are populated either by local metadata or TheMovieDb Helper, as far as I understand.
