Are all audio sync issues fixed now?

I have been asked to look for a hardware solution to run Kodi along with streaming add-ons and had thought the Fire stick 4k might fit the bill, especially at the current discounted price of around £30.

However it seems like it's not without issues and as I'm recommending this solution I dont really want any come backs from the person I'm recommending it to.

Personally I've used Raspberry Pi in the past, and now a Shield.

I was going to recommend them the Pi, but by the time a case, decent remote, etc is added to the cost it can work out a fair bit more expensive than the Firestick. Also the added advantage of being able to run Android apks is nice to have over the Pi.

Audio Sync for stereo is broken in their firmware for stereo sound. I did not find a way to estimate this 150 ms delay without a vendor hack.

While running Kodi 18.4, the screen turns blank but I can hear the navigation click from one item to another. In my log file I encounter the following lines -

Restarting my FireTV has temporarily solved it, but the issue still comes back pretty much immediately. I have removed Kodi and also re-installed Kodi. Does anyone have any good advice on troubleshooting this on the Fire TV 4K stick?

As a PC user for many years, I've been pleased with the Fire Stick 4K. It does have audio issues, but none I couldn't work around by changing the global audio offset, changing the output to "fixed," 5.1, and setting the applydrc hack as described in this message and its predecessors:

I use my Fire Stick as a Kodi-only device, and by keeping the stick from sleeping as described in the link below, I never have to deal with the Amazon UI or restart the Kodi app, which is nice:

I have the shield, appletv4k, xioami tv, and the firestick 4k. For the price of the fires stick when on deal. It kicks the but of all the other devices. If you just want streaming and kodi the fire stick is awesome.

But isnt this plagued with the audio sync issue?

its the only thing putting me off this for a purchase for a family member who is after a device that will run Kodi and video streaming addons on their 720p (HD Ready) Panasonic plasma.

Is there some way to automate that delay so it only applies to stereo and not other files?  I only noticed it on stereo aac so far.
