Release TheMovieDB - TV Show scraper (XML)
Ok. From what I can see in the log, it is not a scraping issue. The scraper is downloading all the metadata. Is it ending up in the database? I don't see why not, but I can only be 100% sure if this is the case if you send me your database and I can check for any corruption.

The only other possibility I can think of is some corruption in your install. If you go to C:\Users\Skeltom\AppData\Roaming\ and look for the Kodi folder. Rename it to Koditemp or similar. Now restart Kodi and let Kodi recreate the folder. Now set up your source and scraper again and scrape the tv show. Is it working?

I'll let you decide which one of the above two options you start with.

Thanks for your help again

hello

i am having problem with scraping a tv shows/drama titled "Lie to Me" which was aired in 2011.

i have named my folder "Lie to Me (2011)" and TMDB tv scraper scanned and loaded "Lie to Me (2009)". i even created a parsing nfo and add exact url to the correct tv show/drama but still the scraper returns to the 2009 ones. i am puzzled and could not understand what is happening.

is there a problem with TMDB tv scraper? the version i am using is 3.4.0 (kodi 18.5).

any assistance is greatly appreciated.

What url did you put in the parsing nfo file?

potential bug refering to my post

scraping the files "Gilmore Girls (2000)/Specials/Gilmore Girls S00E<nn>.mkv" does not work.

All episodes in this season link to epsiode 1 of that season.
S00E01 "Unaired Pilot" => OK
S00E02 "Welcome to the Gilmore Girls" => "Unaired Pilot"
S00E03 "Gilmore Goodies and Gossip: Season 1" => "Unaired Pilot"
and so on ...

https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/4586
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/4586/season/0
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/4586/season/0/episode/1

can this be fixed by updating the data on tmdb (so I can fis this by myself)?
or is it simple a bug in the scraper?

sorry for the late reply,

i have tried using the suggested nfo structure for tv show and still the result is the same [Kodi loads "Lie to Me (2009)" instead of intended result "Lie to Me (2011)"]. i used the below address to parse url in the nfo file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
http://www.themoviedb.org/tv/39261

did i do anything wrong? thanks in advance.

Delete the first line. There should be no code or any other text at all. The only text that should be in the file is https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/39261

Then delete the wrong show from the library and run the Update again.

i have done as you have pointed out yet the result is the same. Kodi 18.5 still load "Lie to Me (2009)"instead of intended target tv show "Lie to Me (2011)". i still have to make manual changes to point the scraper to the right data. thanks again.

is there a way that i could point which release year since title of the tv show is the same?

this puzzles me since i have included in the nfo the correct url to parse the specific tv show.

Then Kodi is not seeing the nfo file. You have either named it wrong, saved it in the wrong location or the file encoding is wrong.

Check the image in section 2.1 here for naming and location... https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/TV_shows

For file encoding, ensure it is UTF-8

If it is none of those, then provide a Debug Log which captures you trying to scrape the show.

thanks again.

i have checked and i have made a mistake. i am NOT suppose to rename the nfo file according to title of the tv show. Kodi has scraped and now loads correct data.

your assist is most appreciated. thanks...

Hi,

I recently switched from using a local/default library to a mariadb shared library. I exported & imported my library as a single file during the process. That seemed to go fine with the exception of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. I tried to scrape them in but get the same results in both cases - the title is empty, showing empty list items when I look at the tv show list. No metadata of any kind is scraped, and the directory shown when you check the submenu "Information" is actually the parent of the tv show dir. I do have a log file saved from a failed scrape of GoT and I see stuff in it about not having the episode guide to look up episodes. BUT, out of curiosity I switched back to my local library, removed GoT, and rescraped it no problem. I would think that rules out the scraper as the problem, and instead points towards mariadb somehow, right?

Yes, that is a known issue. Read item 1i here... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=336969
