Unfortunately I can't tell what is wrong with LibreELEC by looking at the boot log of Ubuntu that is running a different kernel. Perhaps LibreELEC is missing firmware, or incorrectly detecting hardware (there were e1000 problems during 5.5-rc, apparently).
What I need is the system log from a non-functional LibreELEC system using latest LE master (ie.
#0203). Without a working network this is tricky, but possible.
1. Edit the LibreELEC kernel command line
/flash/syslinux.cfg
and add
systemd.debug_shell
to the end of the line beginning with
APPEND
.
2. [Re]boot the system.
3. With a USB keyboard attached allow Kodi to start, then press
ctrl-alt-F3
(F3=Function Key 3, all 3 keys at once) and you should now have access to the text console.
4. Connect a USB storage device, let it auto-mount or mount it manually, then run
pastekodi -c >/var/media/XYZ/kodi.log
(where
/var/media/XYZ
is your USB storage).
5. Shutdown, remove the USB storage then upload the file
kodi.log
to a pastebin site and post the link
6. You can leave the kernel command line parameter in place, in case it useful in future, or remove it.
