You mean adding the Skin Settings menu to the Shutdown menu, which can be accessed by the long pressing BACK button on remote/keyboard?

A good safeguard is to add "skinsettings" to the shutdown menu, then if you lose settings from mainmenu, just long press on BAck button to bring up shutdown menu and you can access skin settings and re add settings to main menu.

Yep , you can of course add the "settings" menu there as well.

I can't seem to get the full menu (Configure, Run, Uninstall, Disable, Update etc) for many addons, the way I can under the default Estuary Skin.

I see a play button that can be long pressed on Enter button for the Context menu.

2. Also is there a general way to disable logo splash/animations on skins, eg via xml file?

3. I seem to have turned on/off some setting that shows videos playing in background that I can't seem to stop (when I press on some video play and then back out of it to go to another menu in YouTube or Vimeo, for instance.)

This results in my GPU maxing out at 1200 MHz with a 72 degrees Celsius temperature, on my x96mini box running CE.

Any solution?

Well, mainly... most of those items actually are visible on the context menu for an add-on, and the ones that aren't, I'd argue shouldn't be there anyways. Can you provide examples where you think the context menu isn't correct?

There's definitely a way, because they are defined in the skin's xml files... but you'd have to hunt them down and change them yourself...

If you press X on the keyboard, it'll stop any content, playing in the background or not. Also, you can press "back" on the home screen to return to the player, and stop it from there.

If you don't want the video to be visible in the background there's an option in the settings to disable it.

Does anyone have an elegant way of getting a "next episode" widget working? Currently the widget (from Skin helper widgets) displays the episodes correctly, and allows me to navigate into the episode info view but when you hit play it returns to the main screen and nothing happens.
I assume this is because SHS is unsupported at the moment. I've tried multiple workarounds which either don't display correctly or break with the same behaviour. Smart playlists pick the wrong order or don't display items, other widgets provided by Jellyfin break with the same behaviour. The log doesn't give me much info albiet I'm pretty novice to troubleshooting Kodi.

What I am looking for is: a widget to display on the "TV Shows" screen that is in episode view, displaying the next episode to watch in the series we are currently watching, ordered by 'last played' & 'descending'.

My fallback at the moment is using 'TV series in progress', which is working correctly however needs about 5x as many clicks to get to playing the episode we want.

This problem isn't specific to arctic zephyr, it happens on every skin install I've tried at the moment, but I don't know where else to post!

I can't go back and edit because I haven't posted enough apparently! So double posting - right after I asked for help I thought of a solution that works pretty well.

I went back into the kodi settings and changed default selection action to 'play', changed flatten heirachy to on, and flatten TV show seasons to 'always'. I already had 'Select first unwatched TV Show Season / Episode' to always.

Now my 'In progress TV Shows' widget immediately goes to the next episode I want to play, and another click confirms the selection and it plays. The widget does a great job displaying the shows in the correct order too.

I'm still open to suggestions for a "next episode" type widget, but I'm absolutely stoked I found a workaround given how much time I've spent trying to sort out this issue. Posting the solution because when searching the forums I found a lot of people asking this and being pointed to skin helper widgets which is now broken, so someone else might find it useful.

Fantastic skin, my favorite.

However, I have issues with the PVR/Live TV HUD. It looks like the buttons "click area" is not exactly where the icons/buttons shown up. Also timeshifting don't work well, even with keyboard. Any way to fix these issues? I've tried the new WIP Arctic Horizon skin, it looks ok in that, but currently I would prefer Zephyr 2.

Is there any fix for this?

There is a setting inside Kodi, to turn it off. Been a while, but I believe it's Settings -> Skin Settings -> Background -> Now playing video in background.

I wouldn't say it's designed badly, it's just not designed to have a mouse pointer flying all over the screen. I never understood why people want to use a mouse anyway, when did you ever see a cable tv box with an air mouse flying about everywhere. It doesn't happen because they know it's a very poor way to navigate on your tv

Did anyone figured out by now how to enlarge Submenu icons? They are too small, I use my custom high resolution icons and I would like to make them big as Submenu squares are big. On my laptop when 40cm away from screen looks good but on 55" TV when 3.5 meters away Submenu icons are damn small.

I put shortcuts to my favorite TV channels and icons are so small that I can't even recognize some channels.

Same applies for Channel list and EPG. Icons in Arctic Zephyr's 2 EPG list are extremely small.

I am forced to start using TiViMate, icons are there bigger and EPG is clean looking. AZ2 should be updated in terms of PVR UI.

Wishlist: Bigger TV/EPG/Submenu icons, size of EPG grid settings, option to add channels to favorites like in TiViMate, there is a Group Favorites above all groups (in AZ2 they are placed horizontally and Favorites should be 1st before All groups).
