You should connect the folders directly via NFS:

What do you mean with "official build"? Kodi 18)

The 9.2.5 build uses a hacked old kernel that is able to output in UHD - but suffers from Sound PT (Atmos, Highres and so on) and 3D

Quote:I downloaded the test build from https://test.libreelec.tv/ for the RPI 4 and this plex addon build as the official one fails to start. 4k is downgraded to 1080p as you said and HDR isn't working. I cannot search for HDR in this thread because it's too short.

The nightlys (and also the builds from milhouse) uses the official kernel wich is able to do proper sound passthrough, but can't output in UHD or 3D. We have to wait for a first buld wich works in the main functions. (UHD/3D/Sound Passthrough). If you don't need 3D and uses only stereo sound on your telly the official 9.2.5 is the best solution at now.
Hi gents
Do you know if installing Kodi in the new
pI 400 is easy and possible? Does the pi 4 LibreELEC sd card works on it? Thanks

so long,

Hias
Is this right that was the last beta update on 18.07.2020?
Are there no more current builds?
If so why?
Milhouse took the decision a few months ago to step back from his deep support for LibreElec and Kodi. Hence there are no more nightly Milhouse builds of LE.

There are still nightly LE generic builds available - https://test.libreelec.tv/ .

Thanks for the info
Too bad because of milhouse. I thank him for all the work
Would it be sensible to close this thread, as none of the recent comments relate to these builds?

Can I just update LE as I was doing before with these builds?

Should be fine. You may need to reinstall some add-ons, as I think milhouse included some pre-installed as they updated more frequently than the LE repo.
If anything is missing just install again from LE repo.
Can someone explain why HEVC 10bit software decoding is this bad on RPi3 latest builds?

And meantime AV1 software decoding is working?

Where I can get changelogs?

Please, let me know.

A lot of the pi specific acceleration has gone from kodi. That includes gpu acceleration for hevc on pi2/3.
The move is to use standard decode (v4l2) and rendering (drm) interfaces.
Hardware hevc on Pi4 is supported through this interface but the gpu accelerated version is not (yet).

Thanks for replying it.

I assume av1 software decoding was done already with drm in mind right?

Just for the sake of clarity: It is safe to upgrade
Thanks,

No real difference. Both will be software decoded and it depends on the complexity of the stream.
Are the hevc and av1 files the same resolution, and bitrate? Both 10-bit (which is a lot harder than 8 bit).

Works, I tried it out myself!

Let's hope the release of Kodi 19 Beta 1 brings us a step forward into the right direction (UHD/Audio Passthrough, HW HDR)
