I am seeing similar behavior in Windows now with the Kodi 19 beta1 release , ie -starting any channel content from the beginning.

There is a breaking change in Kodi... I'm working on a fix. You'll have to install a Kodi build with a compile date 11/13 or earlier. The last working build is a4fb12a

Yes, The issue was isolated: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/18770

Current nightlies include the fix, Beta 1 release does not.

My system and this update are NOT getting along at all. I did a clean start and selected yes to let it auto tune channels and yes to enable it to use Pluto TV. For whatever reason Pseudotv is continually rebuilding the channels.

I went ahead a cleared default channels and made a couple of my own, still constantly rebuilding.

Music genres, recommend channels, and recommend services are all greyed out with 0 next to recommended services even though I said yes to letting it use Pluto TV.

Kodi crashed like twice as well while I was trying to capture logs. Here is what I got:

Looks like your version of PlutoTV is outdated, so PTVL is trying to import malformed data... and hanging on import. I'll add code to handle exceptions however, you'll need to update PlutoTV and reboot Kodi.

This weekend I hope to finally get you some logs for the issues I've been seeing with blank channels on my Windows system.

I can tell you that I seems to be related with having multiple channels that have short duration content, e.g. my "Looney Tunes"  and "Disney Cartoons" channels, where these are playlists of 200-300 shorts where the content is no longer than 6-7 mins apiece.  They are valid in my library with accurate duration info, and they always seem the be the first to go blank after a full clear or reinstall, and then it other channels start to follow, and within a day or two, anywhere from 10-50 of the 120 channels I typically run start blanking out, and clear data actions from the PVR settings only seem to make it worse.  

One other thing I should be able to show is when you have both personal and pre-built channels, and the same movie happens to be on currently in both (e.g.  "Lethal Weapon"  is playing from a default "action moves" genre channel, and also in one of my personal "80's"  movies channels at the same time), that choosing one or other from the EPG will take you to the other channel  - I selected it from the 80's channel, bring up the menu, and its playing from the action movies channel, or vice versa, action channel takes me to the 80's channel.  Weird...

Blank EPG data can be any number of issues some unrelated to Pseudo and more to due with the PVR backend. "Blank EPG" Is an indicator that the data hasn't been parsed yet, perhaps the amount of individual content is overwhelming the system? Log will yield the answers.

As for your playback issue I will look into it. I already have an idea of the issue, expect a fix.

I'm experiencing that same behavior using other addons as well. I've tested using the Travel Channel addon and Crackle as well. There does not seem to be any problems adding smart playlists or directories with the channel manager, only video addons.
