MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping)
i just came across this tool in an effort to rename media files so my server(jellyfin) is able to recognize them better. i realize this is targeted towards kodi but it has features that are pretty universal. titles and other fields can have spaces in metadata but i dont like my files to have spaces on disk. would you entertain the idea of adding a delimiter option for spaces in the renaming tool? so they could be set to ( - /_ / . ) or whatever you want to set it to. thanks for your work on this!

Good idea! I've created a backlog item for this: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/1082
But this won't be implemented in the near future because I have to work on other issues and features first. :-)

Hello, I have some questions about medialech please :

-Is it possible to name a season of a TV show ?
For example instead of « season 1 » I write
« what I want »

Is it possible to write an overview for each season ?

-Is it possible to link a tv show with a movie ?

-There is too many nfo files (one for every episodes), is it possible to merge them in one nfo file ?

-Is it possible to add an another website than thedbtv ?

Thanks

Sadly, the short answer to all of your questions is: No.
I haven't looked into a single, merged XML file for episodes, yet. How has that file to be named?

What do you mean by Website? If your episode has an IMDb ID then you should be able to visit it through the "go to imdb" button. :-)

Andre

Thanks for your answer... Do you know if this feature (rename seasons) will be added ?

There is a nfo files for each episode so for example, when I want to use VLC Media Player instead of Kodi, all of the nfo files appear with the videos and it hinders the display, so for example if a tv show contains 200 episodes, there are also 200 nfo files so it took me about 1-2 minutes so find an episodes instead of few seconds

I mean, medialech find automatically informations about a tv show (actors name, overview, episode name,...) from thedbtv website but sometimes it doesn’t find these informations (because I am French so sometimes informations aren’t available in this language) and I wanted to try other website

Thanks

Sorry, not in the foreseeable future. Undecided

Regarding TheTvDb: MediaElch now supports TMDb and IMDb as well. Do you use v2.8.0? :-)

All differences (new features, etc.) are listed here: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-bl...ch-v2.8.0/
See also: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-do...2020-12-13

Animes are better supported by TvDb as far as I know. But I would just try it out for a few episodes and see which works best. :-)

I've set up a mirror here: https://bintray.com/bugwelle/MediaElch/M....8.0#files
Some users experienced very slow download rates from GitHub.

MediaElch v2.8.2 - Coridian

The next stable version 2.8.2 is here! Only a week after v2.8.0

Blog Post: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-bl...ch-v2.8.2/
Documentation: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-doc/download.html

What's new?
Not a lot this time. But there were two regression that I wanted to fix. Have a look at the blog post above. For example: Images are now downloaded in parallel. :-)

Where can I download MediaElch?
Stable releases can be downloaded from https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-doc/download.html
This time we have a download-mirror on bintray.com as well.

For Linux distributions we provide repositories for Ubuntu (.deb) and openSUSE (.rpm).
For Windows we also provide a Chocolatey package.

All binaries should be ready in a few hours.

Where can I get help?
For general question use Kodi forums, e.g.

- [English] https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=136333 (this thread)
- [German] https://www.kodinerds.net/index.php/Thre.../?pageNo=1

If you find a bug, please open an issue on https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues

Thank you! I already downloaded the new version.

Two things I'd like to mention:

1. I checked the "Le bureau des légendes" TV series. Since I use the overviews in hungarian language, I set this in the settings. For instance, this TV series has only english overviews for the episodes. But these are not added by the scraper and the overview panel remain blank. Could you add a second language, if the first one isn't exist?

2. The episodes thumbnails are almost perfect. But, for the above TV series, the each episodes of the second season has two pictures. The first one is 400x225, the other one is 1476x830 pixels. The scraper add the first one, and I couldn't add the other one, because it don't find that. Link for the tv series: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/62476-le-b.../episode/1

Would you be so kind to check these?
Thank you!

Hi,

1) A fallback language would be great. I agree with you. I have an open backlog item for that, see https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/893
That is nothing for the near future, though. Sorry Undecided

2) Thanks for that example. I've opened a new issue for that. I'll have a look at that. :-)
