Release TheMovieDB - TV Show scraper (XML)
(2021-01-14, 01:32)Wegel Wrote: Does this scraper support url-only NFO files, with urls from themoviedb.org?
Yes, all scrapers support Parsing NFO files. That is a core Kodi function, not a scraper function.

Which site it supports depends on which scraper you are using. If you use TVDB scraper, then it supports TVDB url's. If you use TheMovieDB scraper, then it supports TheMovieDB url's

You should also be able to use IMDB url's and these work only when the IMDB ID has been entered at whichever site you are using. TheMOvieDB in this case. It is rare that they are missing though.

Not sure if it's reported, but the scraper seems to have trouble finding Prime Suspect (1991)
Doesn't matter if its automatic or via manual input, it just can't find it, even though there is an entry https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2583-prime-suspect

Is this a bug? I'm at a loss to correct it myself.

Someone has marked it as an "Adult" title (ie, porno). It won't scrape unless you use a Parsing NFO file.

Is it an Adult title, as it does not look like it? If you are a member there, edit and remove the Adult flag.

Wow, that was quick. It's most certainly not a porno, it's a detective show which would have adult, read mature and dark, themes.
Adult lock removed, and it's now scraped in.Thank you.

Hey!

First of all cool add-on. For several years I used to use regular The Movie DB add-on, but lately started testing this one. And I already see one annoying difference.

I have a TV series in a directory 'The River (2017)' - https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/70618-elven. During the scan add-on identified it as 'Down The Mighty River (2017)'.

When I've tried to update information, add-on found following matches:
  • Down The Mighty River (2017)
  • Elven (2017)
  • <something_what_I_dont_understand> (2017)
My assumption is that add-on sorted results alphabetically and assigned first item from the list. Old The Movie DB add-on gave priority for the most similar item. I've checked my hypothesis with other TV series as well: As well, it would be super cool if there would be an option to set a fall-back language for title and description of TV series. Now when the content is non-US or non-UK and there's no description in my language I usually see Korean, Danish, Swedish, or whatever description. Would be cool to see my preferred language or English (for example). For others it might be something else, depending on the languages they know.

Once again, huge kudos for great work.

Same thing happened to me with "The Middle" and "Malcolm in the Middle". I just refreshed the information.

I still need the version numbers. Give me a Debug Log that captures an Update Library and I can grab all the info I need.

But I must say that I have never seen this issue of out of order seasons.

Hmmm, season orders look correct to me!!

It has been 6 weeks since you posted and I am not going to go back and catch up what you told me back then.

What is the issue?

Hi!
I recently switch from tvdb from this add-on and I'm noticing a issue. When I select a language that is not english and there's no translation the add-on can't scrape episode title. It can scrape the plot of episodes in english but not title, it be only (in translation) "Episode 1", "Episode 2". This is a know issue? Is possible to add english as fallback language for episode titles too?

To reproduce:
1. Select a tv show that don't have translation in tmdb for your language (exemple: Broad City);
2. change the setting of the add-on to your language (exemple: pt-br);
3. Scan library and check.

Oh, I understand, is a API issue and not an add-on issue. Thanks for the info! Hope they fix this soon (finger crossed).

Yes, we already discussed about that long time ago:
I also opened an issue on their forum:
https://www.themoviedb.org/talk/5fdb3c63...003e782143

But there is no progress since then.

Are you sure there is an episode title in the language you need? by default TMDB set title to episode X ( what is debatable...)
I watched into TMDB for Broad City, it doesn't seems to contain a lot of title translation, but episde 1 instead.

A good thing to do in this case is to update TMBD as it is a collaborative website, if no official translation exist, copy English title... refresh your library on the next day to see the update.

Hello
Hope to be in the right place. Would it be possible to add the genres of the TMDB series to the translation list?
Indeed, some are missing :
ie : for the french users :

Action & Adventure  => Action et Aventure
Kids  => Enfants
News .....
Reality
Soap
Talk
War & Politics

Thank you.

Which translation list?

Genres are scraped from TheMovieDB. Kodi does not have its own genre list, it only displays what is scraped.
