So i got the spotlight working, going to test your new master soon. However I do have a question, so the way spotlight work in other skins is different, such as Auramod and Arctic Horizon, and Titan Bingie Mod where it takes up the whole screen. Here its just a normal widget.

Can you describe in detail, what makes the functionality of the Spotlight widget different from the skins mentioned above? Are these technically not widgets?

My suggestion if its possible is to make it so spotlight widget uses its own aspect not the poster or any other previous ones like the one from classic view.

yes so a spotlight is a widget but it looks different compared to the other widgets. For example:

-Spotlight (referred to as a fullscreen widget), basically when you put this widget at the top it will only recognize this widget and show it, and not any other widgets.

So in Arctic Zephyr Reloaded these are regular widgets versus the spotlight. They are both just regular poster widgets, or any other aspect that you choose, there is no difference in comparison to the spotlights above where they are special types of widgets that take up the whole screen, or the whole screen above widgets in Auramod.

What I am trying to suggest is, when you change the home menu style to Modern or Featured. It already does a view that looks something like a spotlight without any extra work needed, and when you change the home screen menu to Modern, it disregards all other widgets already except for the top one that it uses for the Modern view. If you port this as the spotlight view, you dont have to do much extra, like trying to be able to add more widgets under it as Auramod does which is unnecessary at least for now.

As it is right now you can't get that Modern view in the other views which is what I am saying you should do, and that would function as the spotlight view style. 

So for example I have two main menu items, the first is a spotlight then the second one is just regular widgets how it should look like when you first open Arctic Zephyr Reloaded on the spotlight should look like this

Sorry if I rambled a lot but i tried to explain as clearly as possible with examples from other skins. Once again thank you for making this great skin, and the activity you maintain on it! I hope you consider this suggestion.

This is not possible atm. With non-fullscreen widgets, there are problems with scrolling and this doesn't look good.

No. AZ 2 uses a different function for search, than AZ Reloaded.

Wondering if this is just my build that this happens too. When I play a movie and press stop it often starts to play the movie on its own. The widget first spins like updating and then pulls the movie or tv series to start again.

Really like this skin but can’t seem to fix this. Wondering if I should delete and reinstall. I am using Matrix latest skin update. Thanks!

I've had this issue as well and it only happens when playing content through widgets. I've resorted to disabling them until it's resolved. It's even more annoying when auto play is enabled and you get stuck in an endless loop and end up having to force close Kodi.

Yes- glad I am not going crazy 😂. It happens with widgets especially tv series. I had to change skins to test and others don’t do it. Hopefully dev can recreate to fix. Thanks for your input.

It happens to me when using Composite but only when there is more than one file for the Movie, where I just have one file on the server it works fine. Seems to be some sort of playlist bug.

Good morning. Does anyone know what are the names for the hdr flags exactly? I have only been able to get the hdr one, is there any other? HDR10+?
I tried to put in the filename "DV" for Dolby Vision, and it doesn't appear either.

The support for .dv is merged to master, we also added flags for .hdr10 .hdr10plus and .hlg

I would beat master but all I have access to ATM is my Chromecast with Google TV which I can't upload from. Hopefully one of the other 2 gentlefolk will oblige. It definitely seems to be a playlist issue though as I've just finished watching a movie and then it started to try to play the first episode of a series in my next episodes list for some reason. The movie wasn't even played from a widget either so it's not just a widget related issue now so I'm baffled

Do you think could be related to some add-on of yours? Do you have some add-on that is not necessary from this theme? I will suggest you to do a "fresh install" of Kodi...

The playing-functionality/method is the same for all, nomatter played via a widget or not. Are you starting your movies/episodes from the dialogvideoinfo screen with the playbutton?

@fabricionaweb maybe you can have a look at the respective lines in DialogVideoInfo.xml? I dont' think that this behaviour could be skin releated. I'm using kodis internal play-button "8", also via SendClick(8).
