Media plays now, but Kodi crashes
#1
Hello, everything worked fine Friday night, come home yesterday and now non of my media will play. I have looked around and I cannot figure it out. Anyone have a thought?

Only thing I can come too is permissions.  All media plays in VLC fine.

Update - So I upgraded to 21.04 which solved whatever NFS issue I had. Files play remotely now via mysql but my server installation of Kodi is borked. I have reinstalled and a crash log is below. I cant make heads or tails of it.

Try enabling debugging in Kodi AND restart it next time, so we'll have a more detailed log file.
Also stick to one non-working movie/video, otherwise the log will clog up.

Yes sir, here is debug with 1 file pressed.

I have found a few files will play, but they are pixelated and green splotches everywhere where others will not play at all like referenced above.

Edit - This problem exists on my Android installations as well. The files that mildly play on my Linux machine will play on my Android devices but if I fast forward or reverse the pixelation and the green pixelation starts happening. Here is log for my Android device of the same file trying to be opened.

I had similar problems.
If you use a NFS-connection, this could be a solution for you:

Added that line as instructed, the error still shows up.

Did you restart your MySQL server after editing that line, because your new log still shows the same error.

Now that I have updated to 21.04, Kodi crashes. I have clean installed it and no joy.

My issues were solved, when i updated the server to 21.04. It seems, there was a NFS-server-update short before 21.04 came out, which leaded to problems with Kodi.
Thats at least my amateur-perception. Smile
When you have updated your Kodi-device to 21.04 and that leads to crashes, you have other problems. I also did this upgrade and it was absolutely trouble-free.

I am not a linux user so I can't help much. But definitely seems to be graphics related.
