It's been fixed with latest "beta" of madVR

Awesome! I had been waiting quite some time for a bug fix.

But where can we find the beta? On the madvr website I only see the stable from 2019.

edit: I tried the 135 version from this forum: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t...&page=3085
Now madvr doesn't do HDR at all. All settings seem OK. Sad
Or is that not the beta you refer to?

Hi, anyone still using this version and also using windows 10 1909 or later?, I cant get this older version working properly in MADVR, stuff plays but only plays in a small window on screen and focus remains on main gui and not on playing movie so I cant access any settings or anything, same for both 1080p and 4k stuff. If I run my PC in 1080p it still plays both in a small windows, if open KODI in 4k it does the same with even smaller windows. Tried a completely fresh build and various diffferent settings, nothing works, thinking it must be an issue with these later windows versions as I havent used this older version since windows 1603.

tried FSE on / off, windows mode on/off full screen on / off, nothing works. The newer betterGUI version works fine.

Anyone any ideas?

I use it with latest Windows release 1H21 or something. No problem like what you are describing. Have you got two screens connected?

Hi, that was my first thought as I have blank dongle connected for remote access, sadly unplugging that makes no difference. Are you on AMD or NVIDIA?

edit: fixed it, turn out to be be something wrong with MADVR, even though MADVR worked in MPC-HC and KODI DS better gui, I reinstalled it from scratch and its now working, I tried that before but used my settings backup, this time I set it all up again from scratch, guessing some sort of registry issue.

Glad you sorted it out.

Anyone could check if he has this problem?

I have calibrated my TV to video levels. So my chain is madVR video levels, Nvidia GPU full levels, TV video levels. As explained here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Video_levels_and_color_space
I then selected "Use video levels" in Kodi settings, so that the GUI does not have crushed blacks.

Problem: when I pause video, it's as if madVR switches to full levels (0-255), making blacks grey. When I restart video, after a couple of seconds levels go back to normal (16-255) and blacks return to black.
If I do not set the GUI to video levels, the problem doesn't happen and video is correctly displayed at 16-255, paused or not paused.

All of the above does not happen with MPC-HC.

I've solved this with an EventGhost script. When playback starts, Kodi is set at Full video levels. When playback stops, Kodi goes back to Limited video levels. Not the most elegant approach but since the code is untouchable, it solves the issue flawlessly.

For the past several months (I've been lazy), I've been experiencing some weird stuttering effects when starting a movie in Kodi DSPlayer. Every 5-10 seconds the picture will seem to back up a half second and repeat a couple frames and then everything is back to normal. Audio is slightly out of sync. MadVR reports no dropped frames or other errors, but clearly it's not being displayed correctly. However, pausing/unpausing, or seeking 10 seconds back or forward in the file usually fixes it immediately. Occasionally I have to seek a few times but then once it's resolved it won't happen again for an entire movie.

I think it started after upgrading to a newer nVidia driver, but I couldn't roll back because it fixed a more annoying issue. Anybody have any ideas?

Have you checked if the new driver hasn't defaulted to adaptive power profile? Other Nvidia users have reported that being an issue. Also, perhaps try to set to FSE and 2-3 frames ahead in Madvr.

Not sure what the deal is, but when starting this thread I opened up the MadVR configuration settings and just looked around. Don't believe I made any changes, and then when you asked me versions I did it again and changed the present in advance to 8 and then back to 1. Haven't had the stuttering problem since in 15 shows/videos when it was happening pretty much every time before. Think it was just a weird config thing that I stupidly lived for the last 3-4 months.
