No, it never shows up which is annoying , basically is it an Up Next playlist only showing the first unwatched episode of shows.
The benefit of using this one over one of the Addon options that do the same is that this is a local Smart Playlist which loads really fast.

Medusa is separate from Kodi and not installed as an addon or anything. You asked about my file naming that is why I mentioned Medusa. It has nothing to do with not being able to select that Playlist as widget

No media is not local but on SMB share, I can open the playlist and see all the episodes and can play them that is not an issue, it is just that I can't select the playlist as a widget.

Do you use add-on content? A:H checks the watched state in another way then A:Z - R

I made some of my own playlist .xsp files manually but they got over-written / deleted upon skin version update. It sort of takes a while to make a Kids Movies playlist because some titles have to be removed even if they are PG. Any way to prevent that from happening in the future? I can make the files read-only for some, but not for others.

Btw, if you are doing a .xps file based on MPAA, the value has to be <value>Rated []</value> with a space after "Rated" and then whichever value you want.
