Apologies, if you look at the screenshots from first page in the thread, screenshots 21-22 show beneath the selected widget, Genre, Year, Rating, Runtime and plot.
I'm trying to work out how to display that information for widgets.

just go the attribute settings of the wished widget and enable
the setting
"Show widget info at bottom .."
( it is where you can also set the artwork type, limit etc)

Running 1.14 Alpha and I don't see that option "Show widget info at bottom" in widget attribute settings

Currently not.
It just has a experimental setting , when using
mainmenu tiles layout you are able to enable 'auto submenu'.
By enable it for menu entrys you have a submenu based on the folderpath related entrys, which are fade in and gain focus when select a menu tile.
But its currently more a placeholder for a submenu function.

Don't know how I didn't notice this before, but this is a killer feature for me as one of the few annoyances with using KODI compared to other media center apps on Apple TV is the poor accessibility to select chapters/bookmarks. If I had one request, it would be to increase the size of the thumbs but that's a minor quibble.

For the size, i'll stay this size.
but i had
issues using andvancedsetting.xml for override the cached thumbs for bookmarks.
this is how it should look.
