Release Tubed (A YouTube client)
(2021-10-26, 13:07)2lazy2chill Wrote: Hey guys:-).

I've added my YouTube-API-Key by copy/paste the api_keys.json file to the directory "plugin.video.tubed". After that I can watch YT-Videos within Tubed.

But if I try to sign-in by google and entering the code on google.com/device I get following error from Google:
Quote:Error 403: access_denied
The developer hasn’t given you access to this app. It’s currently being tested and it hasn’t been verified by Google. If you think you should have access, contact the developer ([email protected]).
Any hints for me?

Hi.
I was using tubed, but recently had to switch to youtube plugin. I'm using my own keys with both plugins. Also MPEG-DASH options are same for both plugins, but with tubed I'm getting very big video slowdowns (circle with stream caching). I've checked video stream types and they are same for tubed and youtube and I really don't know why it happens with tubed...

Me too,  A while ago I hjad to do the opposite (from Youtube to Tubed).

You're right!
I've switched from youtube to tubed plugin month ago cause of such reason and now I need to switch back... And I really don't understand why it happens. I've examined code of both plugins already...

I am using the built in API key with Tubed and my own on YouTube.  So, I don't think that is the problem.
I was suspecting my network because I recently started using pi-hole and 1.1.1.1.  But turning them off didn't help.  And streaming movies was ok.  Then I switched from ethernet on a gigabit router to wireless N with no change.  I think I covered all the local bases.

I'm sure network is not a problem.

YouTube on android and TV - works OK
YouTube plugin on kodi - works OK
tubed plugin on kodi - lags

i just decided to switch to tubed from youtube plugin, ignored the last posts that say it's slow, got it working and...it caches so much it's not usable.
I'm on windows, using my own keys and streaming from youtube plugin works fine. tried to play with the settings but nothing makes any difference.

Might have something to do with the bitrate limiting youtube introduced lately.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, once I am able, I will be resolving the video playback issues.

To be able to resolve this, a second login and personal keys will always be required, similar to the YouTube add-on.
Because of the second login, I'll have to forfeit the chance at ever receiving quota for the add-on.

This will also take some time to add, I appreciate your patience and hope you all are well.

Does anyone know why some 'files' want to use Tubed to play a trailer when other 'files' use Youtube?

I've had so many issues with both Tubed and Youtube addons in the past. I removed Tubed and still some files prompt that Tubed needs to be installed.

Hello AGLyons, sorry for my English.
In Kodi, when you select content type for a folder, you can select a scrapper, some of them have the option to choose between Youtube or Tubeb in their settings. This configuration is for each folder, you will have to change this configuration and rescan, in this way each file will be correctly assigned the information.

Ofcourse. I feel stupid  Rofl

Don't feel stupid. An acronym is meant to be written in all capitals. Otherwise it's just a word! So 'PITA'.

Pita is a type of Indian bread.

out of curiosity, tubed is dead then? I mean I get 100% quota exceeded with it so whenever it somehow pops back up I always uninstall and rescan to get rid of it. Somehow Kodi sets the default to "tubed" for tv content though, it really shouldn't should it?

Does anyone have a working version for kodi v20.1 (nexus)?
