Release [obsolete - now in nightlies] Build - Dolby Vision compatibility/quality improvements
#76
At first, thank you very much for your work. DV works perfectly for almost every file on my LG TV Smile Kodi official should definetly integrate this feature.

But I have a question: Is it normal that I can not install any addons (I tried a few) on this build? It always says something like (my kodi is in german) "the dependency on ... couldnt be resolved". So do I have to use another official Kodi Version to install the plugins? One Kodi for DV and one for the addons? I would like to put everything in one Kodi Media Center.

It doesn't work for every file so there's no point.

No it's not normal. There's nothing in this build that would cause this so it could be a bug in Kodi at the date it was built.
You should check with latest nightly to confirm.
I haven't had any issue with addons myself. Do remember that this is based on Kodi Omega which some addons might not support.

I really appreciate you offering this version here. Until now I used a modded version (maven's) to be able to watch DV, then the picture stayed black because of HDR10+, with your version I can finally disable it.
Thanks a lot for this!

I use Kodi in conjunction with the fire tv 4k stick.

No changes, just rebased on Kodi master.

Hi, can you test please the multiweather addon. Works for you?
In the kodi-21-Omega-armeabi-v7a-release-quietvoid-2023-03-15.apk build works fine, but in this last build, no weather info.
Tested in firestick 4K max, and android tv11 box, both the  kodi-21-Omega-armeabi-v7a-release-quietvoid-2023-05-20.apk
No kodi log error..

Thanks

Multiweather doesn't work for me either in the latest release.

This isn't really the thread to report such issues. I think the addon has a forum thread as well.
And it should be verified against Kodi nightlies but my build shouldn't behave any differently.
If it worked before then it must be related to a Kodi change.

In any case, it's most likely not caused by the build and should be reported to the right people if there's an actual issue.
Either the addon thread or the Kodi issues on GitHub.

You all do realise that these builds are based on unstable alpha software under active development? so things change & things can break as a result, if you want stability then these are probably not the builds for you IMHO. Your best hope to find the build that works best and stick to it, unless you kniow for sure a newer build fixes something you have an issue with.

@quietvoid if I was you I'd put in big red lettering a message in your first post to say these are based on unstable alpha.

I'd also like to be able to download an older version, but you have links only to the latest, which in this case has "Multi Weather" problem.
Can you link the former version - 2023-03-29 (before rebased to latest Kodi master) in which this addon works OK, and which I'd like to install on my Firestick 4K ?
Unfortunately I saved only the 64bit version, and the 32bit is the one I need...

I've put back the previous version but someone really should report the issue..
I don't use the Weather addon.

Of course you are right.
But no issue persist in same "official" android nightly omega kodi version.
Its not just the multiweather, but other weather addon not work too..
Cross tested wth firestick 4K max.
 kodi-20230519-67b9d2a8-master-armeabi-v7a.apk > no issue.
