Req Kodi on LG Web OS

No idea if passthrough mode is even supported for ALSA.

Not for me, everything seems perfectly in sync. Make sure you use the latest nightly version though

Space is limited on some devices but if you have a rooted TV you can mount a USB stick and put your library there (or even the whole userdata folder)

Yes, keep in mind though that it will also remove any sideloaded apps

No

Yeah that would explain a lot actually lol and I don’t think it is.

In my experience on three different TVs and AVRs you only get actual passthrough audio working in Kodi for webOS when the passthrough option (not automatic) is selected on both the TV and inside of Kodi, but it just seems to not go back to the PCM state on the AVR again when stopping playback, so the ALSA audio can’t be heard again until Kodi is restarted properly. This will of course be a non-issue once Starfish can be used for PCM audio as well which, as I understand it, is the goal right now.

Thanks again to you and everyone else working on this version of Kodi for the great work you are doing. Have a great weekend! Smile

My tv isnt rooted yet maybe i will.

If so what format must the usb stick be formatted ext4?

And how to scrape library to usb stick and how to put the whole userdatafolder on usb stick?

I have a non rooted LG OLED55C24LA Tv and of course I update often the nightly kodi version but the problems are still there

I've also never have been able to get audio in sync, but I don't know if it's a config problem.
I do 2.0 output to PCM with optical.

Audio sync issues are also happening to me (fw 03.34.95). But not always, I guess it depends on codec/format?

I wanted to ask -> sometimes my kodi stops reacting to remote control input. Does it happen to you also?

yes almost always, not exclusive to being on LG Web OS either

what is the cpu and/or memory usage when this happens? it sounds like kodi is "busy" with a task and unable to respond

You simply mount it inside the jailed environment: mount -o bind /tmp/usb/sda/sda1 /var/palm/jail/org.xbmc.kodi/some/random/mount/path As for the filesystems supported, please check the webOS specs for your TV.

For those of you complaining about sync issues. How much is the audio off? Can you try passthrough mode with enabled AC3 and AC3 transcoding. That does also work with internal speakers

On my side it looks around 0.5-1s without AC3 transcoding enabled.
With AC3 transcoding enabled, the audio is in sync but it takes a bit for it to catch up on seeks.
While with it disabled, there's never a catch up to sync back correctly.

So it basically only works with passthrough + AC3 transcoding.

I get audio out of sync for ALL videos, also videos with AAC audio not only AC3. I must set a delay of -250 ms for all videos.
Then there are videos where fast forward, rewind or resume function works without problems and others where these functions don't work or don't work as expected.
With official Kodi on My Android TV Box all works perfectly
My Tv: a non rooted LG OLED55C24LA
