Ok, had a bit of time to play with it longer. The first glaring problem is that screensaver inhibition isn't working for me (webOS 4.9).
Second thing is input problems. The onscreen keyboard sometimes needs multiple clicks to register, even though the cursor does show clicks from the remote. Also in the player interface it is impossible for the controllers to dissapear as long as the cursor is "active". If i start using direction buttons and the cursor disappears the player controls can be hidden, but as long as the cursor stays active, the player controls keep reappearing

Unfortunately, your reported issues seem to be very much related to your webOS version. I cannot reproduce them on my webOS 7 device. Maybe a debug log can be useful with enabled extralogging for the windowing component.

The player controls won't hide if the cursor moves. That is also the same behaviour as on any other platform.

What help do you need with the installation?
You can compile the necessary add-ons for your Kodi branch yourself.

If you can't, here is a link to “inputstream.ffmpegdirect” Add-on for Kodi 21.0-ALPHA3, Compiled for Kodi on LG webOS. inputstream.ffmpegdirect

Important! It is not installed by Kodi via .ZIP as usual, but must be unzipped and copied manually to TV.
Unzip the inputstream.ffmpegdirect.zip and copy the folder inputstream.ffmpegdirect to /media/developer/apps/usr/palm/applications/org.xbmc.kodi/addons/ on the TV using FileZilla.

I'd try adding the audio fields to the pipeline as well. There is a chance video only pipelines are not supported.

From today on I can only remotely access the TV, I would like to know how to shut it down from a ssh shell. I tried shutdown -h now but this didn't switch off the TV. Is there any other command?

Does the error only occur with HD channels, or also with SD channels?
Do they also use the correct “enigma2” client for Kodi 21.0-ALPHA3? I have compiled enigma2 client for Kodi 21.0-ALPHA3. enigma2 Client for Kodi 21.0-ALPHA3

Try them, with and without hardware accelerator.

To hide the cursor you have to press the cursor down, once it disappears press the back key to hide the playback bar. Regarding the screen saver, it sometimes fails with some addos when buffering.

If, your TV has root, then, the user is root and password is alpine. SSH must be enabled in Homebrew Channel. In FileZilla connection, SSH must be on IP address of your TV port:22.

I also have windows app called "WebOS Dev Mode Manager" which allows copying but I am unable to copy whole folder, I can only copy single file in it

That will be hard, because FileZilla as far as I know cannot connect with DEV mode passphrase key, but with user and password or with SSH private key. Whether creating a private key without root, unfortunately I can not say on the spot. In the crashd manual it is described under Notes, Authentication, how to create a private key. With it, you can easily create a connection to your device using FileZilla.
The easiest way is to create the folders yourself in webOS Dev Manager and copy the individual files into them.

Hey, thank you guys for getting this working, I have an issue on my G3 that there is no Dolby Vision notification when I play Dolby vision content, though it does say Dolby vision under picture mode in settings, is this normal? I do get the Atmos notification.
